here is a list I've been tinkering with for a while.

I have a few models that I really love with chaos, and I bought them just because and now im trying to figure out how to make a good list with them.

I got a very cool and personally sculpted and converted Bloodthirster, a Soulgrinder, a Heldrake and a Maulerfiend. Now these are different armies but they are battle brothers so we got something to work with.

Putting all of these in a list sound possible since they are all big guys requiring the attention of the opponents big guns.


here is the list at the moment

170 1x Chaos Lord / Khorne / Juggernaught / Axe of blind fury / Sigil of corruption (with Bikers)

170 10x Chaos Space Marines / Khorne / Icon of Wrath (in Land Raider)
170 10x Chaos Space Marines / Khorne / Icon of Wrath (in Land Raider)

219 7x Chaos bikers / Khorne / 2x Plasma gun / Icon of wrath / 1x Power Axe on champion
170 1x Heldrake

125 1x Maulerfiend
230 1x Land Raider
230 1x Land Raider

290 1x Bloodthirster / 2x Major Rewards

45 3x Nurgling bases

180 1x Soulgrinder / Nurgle / Phlegm Bombardment

total 1999pts


Juggerlord and bikers are a nice little cheap deathstar, their goal is to stay behind the rest of the army, out of range from most things possible and when the opponent is all tired and battered from fighting with a Bloodthirster, a Soulgrinder, two Landraiders filled with beserk Space marines and a couple of Dinobots. Then the bikers come out from behind and annihilate whats left with an insane amount of attacks lots being high Str and ap2, in a pretty resilient unit too. or if I feel like it they just charge forward and get stuck in melee to avoid getting shot at.


lots of high priority threats, decent scoring with the lone nurgling that can deepstrike and hold an objective and the power Chaos Space Marines which are very strong if left unchecked.

the opponent will have a hard time getting first blood as his easiest option is the maulerfiend and its not so easy to kill nowadays with its invul.

What lists should I be wary of?

I prefer bikes with melta guns. I prefer spawns over bikes for more wounds and beast move through cover were as bikes must pass a difficult terrain test.

Can you turbo boost bikes with a juggernaut?

I agree on melta over plasma. stuff like knights will always give you issues.

A good number of assault units might see you through.

Aircraft will be a nightmare, but not much can be done.

Shame to have no psychic phase, ok your khorne but still. 11 horrors

Instead of nurgling allows you to compete in the psychic phase, generating an extra unit a turn potentially.

Or take a portalglyph, which is a bargain.

Is mark of Khorne worth it on bikes? I remember looking at this recently and think it wasn't a good choice.

Because marines with marks and ccw, and special guns are more cost efficient than ws5 berserkers who can only take plasma pistols and chain axes.

You cannot turbo boost the bike with Jugernaught in the unit without it leaving the squad.

Have you thought of letting the lord stand by himself and giving your bikes Mark of Nurgle? T6 eh, and yes always go with melta.

I like mark of Khorne on bikes and mark of Nurgle on chaos spawns since the T6 almost reresents "Eternal Warrior" on the 3w Spawn but since the Biker only has 1w they dont get the same advantage out of it yet they are paying the same amount for it, the Khorne mark is 1/3 of the price of the nurgle mark. For the same points as the mark of Nurgle you can get mark of khorne and Icon of Wrath and then some, which I find is much better. I do like the Nurgle chaos spawn and Biker Sorcerer unit but I think I prefer the Juggerlord over the Biker Sorcerer. Since I only consider the chaos spawn with the mark of nurgle and cant put the Juggerlord with Nurgle Spawns, I choose the unit that will be able to support the Juggerlord which is Khorne bikers.

Im wondering why plasma seems frowned upon with bikers, they seem like a good candidate in my opinion instead of a meltagun, it doubles their range or doubles their shot output, true, its not ap1, gets hot and does lose a Str but I think it can be usefull in lots of situation even for 10pts more.

Say your opponent has 3 knights and some flyers..what do you do?

Give the maulerfiend lasher tendrils, and you might have a chance of downing one. Make sure all your units have meltabombs.

A lot of what you already have is good for that.

Depending on what flyers you should have them under control.
Hell Drake: take auto cannons.
Soul-Grinder is standard CD anti-air.

Against knights the Land Raiders will do their part.

In general Knights are weakest in hand-to-hand.

Have you considered plague bears? 20 of them in cc with their touch of rust can do a number on a knight. You just have to get them there.
