Wondered if you could help me out.
I usually run daemons, but have recently picked up some Necrons in a trade.

Here’s what I got –

Necron Overlord (one from the “CCB”, already built with Staff and Orb)
19 x Warriors (built)
5 x Deathmarks (built)
NIB Lychguard/Triach P-things
5 x Scarab Bases (built)
1 x Ghost Ark (part built)
Unbuilt CCB/Annihilation Barge

After some googling etc., I’ve cobbled together the following list. Can anyone help me tweak it, get the most out of what I’ve got please?





Here’s what I was planning on running it as –

HQ – Necron Overlord with Staff of Light, MSS and Res orb

Elite – 5 x Deathmarks
Elite – 5 x Lychguard with Swords and Shields

Troop – 10 x Warriors in Ghost Ark
Troop – 9 x Warriors

Fast Attack – 5 x Scarab bases

Heavy Support – Annihilation Barge


Comes out at about 982 points.






Any help is greatly appreciated. I could always add to the list in future I guess, but wanted to see if Dakka thinks I’m using the options I have in the best way. My meta is SM and SW heavy,

If you take out the annihalation barge and proxy the ghost ark as a doomsday ark, you have a seriously good list that benefits from massive firepower. However, to do that, you need to take a few points away from your origional list. If you take the shields of the lychguards, you have another 25 points that can now be spent on the doomsday ark. The res orb on that overlord is useless unless you get big units for it to join. Take away the orb and you've gormt 30 less doomsday ark points to worry about. I've played a game with 6 scarabs once and unless you put a harbringer of despair armed with a veil of darkness with them they wont stand a chance. Back to the lychguard: They're fine without shields, the warscythes really do doom a squad or two of boyz, but if you're against an army with tonnes of guns, the shields are what you need. Try and find a way to get a doomsday ark in that list and you will decimate an underestimating Logan grimnar or an extremely delirious lord kranon.

I’ve made some tweaks to my list, what do you think –

HQ – Overlord with Scythe, Orb, MSS and Weave – 160 pts

Elite – 5 x Lychguard with sword & shield – 225 pts

Troop – 5 x Immortals with Gauss Blasters – 85 pts

Troop – 10 x Warriors with Ghost Ark – 245 pts

Troop – 9 x Warriors – 117 pts

FA – 5 x Scarab Bases – 75 pts

HS – Annihilation Barge – 90 Points

Comes in at around 997 points







To add to this, and to make it 1500, I plan to get another Ghost Ark (for the 9 Warriors), 2 Night Scythes (1 for the immortals and 1 for the Lychguard) and 2 more Annihilation Barges.
