Hi, completely new to warhammer but I've finally want to start playing some.
I have found that I would like to play warriors but with a nurgle theme and want to GW with forgeworld minis, those trolls and ogres!

So I'm hoping you can help me with a build that is legal and where can I find the rules for all minis without having to buy several books?

I plan to expand this army later on when I've played for a while. .

oh, also, haven't got any minis yet so go crazy if you can help me out!

Stuff you'll have to buy: The big Warhammer rule book and the Warriors of Chaos army book. You can find a smaller version of the main rulebook on ebay for much less than the giant hardcover version, and it'll contain all the same information but not contain any of the pretty fluff and less pictures. Up to you. All the Warriors of Chaos rules are in the army book, even if you end up using models from elsewhere.

There's a lot of ways you can go with Warriors. Are you looking at centering around trolls/ogres?

Have not really designed yet, i mean, trolls/ogres look amazing to me But since i dont Have a rulebook i cant country points so easily, maybe just Have a few of those as fluff? Would like to atleast Have a medium size army thanks just a few minis..

As options, Trolls can work well with Throgg making them core choices. You could go with a monstrous sort of theme if you like the aesthetics. It's not the most competitive choice for WoC, but it's absolutely a fun one and can do very well in a relatively casual environment. You'd be running Trolls as your main force, Ogres and Dragon Ogres for big scary support, and maybe a Daemon Prince if you want a competitive bump that still fits the theme. Gorebeast Chariots would be thematically appropriate and be powerful additions as well.

for a thousand points that'd be a lot of tight fitting stuff

i don't play monster heavy and i go MoNurgle on everything because i have a nurgle army that being said i usually bring a sorcer to 1000 points because you need magic and he's the cheapest choice and he will cost your max allowance of 250 points

second 2 units of warriors could fit in 1000 but they'd be very small split up i usually bring 22 warriors with MoN and full command for my core until i start adding chariots

but what you really need to decide is what special or rare unit you want to bring at a thousand points because you'll probably only get one choice

chaos familiar
scaly skin
dispel scroll
Mark of Nurgle
Dawnstone

and he brings lore of nurgle because its great at low points

21 warriros
FC
MoN
swift stride banner (gives better movement so i can get closer faster)

1 chaos chariot of Nurgle

all of this is almost 800 points so as you can see you will probably be outnumbered at this level

but the best thing for you to get is the Army Book so you can start picking units you like the look of and the fluff because you gotta paint them and if you hate the model you won't paint them

At 1000 points? Not so much. WoC is super expensive points-wise. In a bigger army? Yeah, that'd work.

You should really get your hands on the army book.

If I were you, I'd try a list like this...

Festus the Leechlord

17 MoN Warriors with halberds and shields gleaming pennant

Gorebeast Chariot MoN
Gorebeast Chariot MoN

3 ogres MoN GW or 4 Trolls AHW

That should be a decent fighty army with lots of hitting power and lore of nurgle will only make it nastier.

This is almost exactly what I would suggest! Festus is incredible, that's a juicy warrior block, Gorebeast of Nurgle make people cry, ogres n trolls would be effective at this points, although I would trade gleaming for + ld banner because you need your general to be a 9 with stupid trolls and low ogres

If its nurgle your after i would consider something like this as well:

Sorcerer- L2, Scroll, Chaos Steed

Chariot- MoN
Chariot- MoN

5 Chaos Knights- MoN, EW

3 Chaos Trolls

3 Chaos Ogres- MoN, GW

that is roughly 900 points.

Gives you a unit of trolls and ogres
a sorcerer with a scroll
he joins the knights for safety
2 chariots that are tough and hit hard.

spare points for wargear, commands/banners etc and maybe a unit or 2 of chaos warhounds perhaps.
