Hey everyone!

I got my hands on the new line of Vallejo Game Air paints, and I thought I'd share my first impressions. In this preview, I look at what colors made the jump from Vallejo Game Color to Game Air; take an in-depth look at the primers and metallics; give a few side-by-sides with VGC counterparts to examine finish and color matching; and I give a brief demo while discussing their overall effectiveness.

Thank you all for watching, and I hope you enjoy these paints as much as I do!
-Andrew

Unnecessary amount of primers. Great Review.

You mentioned an early look. When do these release?

Thanks! And I agree on the primers. I think that anyone who invests in an airbrush is probably pretty serious about painting. And anyone serious about painting is likely going to feel restricted by colored primers. Unless you absolutely 100% LOVE one of the primer colors, you're probably better off finding your favorite base color to apply over a white or black primer.

Unfortunately I'm not sure. I have heard that Vallejo has begun shipping them to distributors, so I guess it will depend on when they arrive and if/when your favorite store has a ordered them. I know The War Store has them up for preorder, but the shipping date is still listed as "unknown."

I believe that we might have these at the Iwata booth at Gencon.

I think they offered so many colored primers to match what the VMA range offers, which seem to be pretty popular with a lot of modelers. They currently offer 13 (!) colored primers in addition to the standard black/grey/white.

I also only use black and grey (sometime white, but not often) but I'm sure Vallejo made the decision to include so many color primers for a reason.

Also, I'm happy to see making videos again Andrew!

In Germany the release is 13.08.2014 - at least, that's what Vallejos retail partner told me yesterday.

Love the VGC colors, don't love the usability of some of them in my airbrush (bad moon yellow, I'm looking at you...)

After trying the Minitaire line, I was impressed by the color choices when compared to VMA, but the metallics sucked big time. The Ghost Tints are interesting, but these cost some serious cash in Germany, cause they don't have that great of a retail network. I ordered a bunch of the VGA for testing and am excited after seeing your review Andrew.

BTW, did Harder & Steenbeck replace your faulty seals in your Infinity CR Plus?

As always, enjoy and have fun!
