Just out of curiosity, which podcast? Is the Greentide formation in the Ghaz supplement?

I think it was Forge the Narrative: Ep 60

FTN Episode 60 - 40k 7th Ed Army List Design & Tournament Talk

http://www.forgethenarrative.com/2014/07/ftn-episode-60-warhammer-40k-7th.html

I think that is the Ep.

Yes GT is from Ghaz.

I don't have the Ghaz supplement, so I can't help. Sorry.

It says you must have 10 Ork Squads and a Warboss united as one unit.

They have the a special rule that says the Warboss must challenge and accept challenges, failing LD causes d3+3 S4 Hits. They also don't have Objective Secured.

General consensus is to add Grotsnik for his SRs and because when the Warboss eventually dies he takes over.

I get the bikers. And I love the idea. But I'm just so scared they are going to be taken down so fast. But I have no real suggestions. I love the list. I really do. Good luck

If I understood it right you can't take the Lucky Stikk on your warboss, as the formation is from the Ghaz supplement and therefore you must take from the Ghaz relics.

Otherwise it's great.

no lukky stikk, but you can turn them fearless with da big boss pole

Which makes Grotsnik unnecessary, saving a billion points changing to a normal painboy.

Although since your warboss (if warlord) has to accept challenges he's bound to die, so it might be to put all your eggs in one basket. Make him a challengemonster instead, however we do that.

hard to do that with no invulnerable save and strikes last

If you plan on swapping out the dok for a painboy why not find a way to get a warboss on a bike with PK to ride with the biker unit. Maybe he can take the lucky stikk

You can get a lukky stick in the greentide, but you have to buy a warboss from outside the formation to do so.

Drop grotsnik to a normal painboy, pickup warboss with lukky stick, give the warboss in GT formation the fearless bosspole. Profit

My alt list has a Warboss with the bikers and the Lucky Stikk.

I am a little disappointed to find out that I can't mix my units completely.

The problem with giving the WB the BBP is that once he gets challenged-out the other Boyz will be blowing LD Checks left and right.

I will take the Lucky Stikk from the WB. Thanks for catching that.

On a side note, my used Ork Dealer is all out of Gretchin. I will have to go back to the drawing board.

Do all the boys squads have to be the same? Can you make some ard boys and some not, some shootas and some sluggas? then combine them?

If so I would make like 2-3 squads of them ard boys and put them to the front of the tide. So you would have 4+, 5+ FNP.

The boyz squads can be differently equipped.

I run the Green Tide quite often, having found it to be silly fun. I've played 4 games with it so far, and won all 4. It's still fun times.

Anyway, seems most questions have been answered, so I can skip that.

Whenever I run my Tide, I run the Boyz all barebones to keep the initial cost of the tide cheap. I would drop Grotsnik. He costs too much and isn't worth it in the end. a 50 point Painboy will do the same thing (minus the fearless). You can give the Warboss a Big Bosspole if you really want fearless, but at this point, they have to kill a minimum of 25 Boyz to even get their first Moral Check...

I also run a KFF Big Mek in my tide. The last game, I ran the Great Waaagh detachment so I could gain access to the Megafield, so my tide was getting a 4++ and a 5+ FNP. Granted, the Big Mek will require some clever placement to ensure the front lines keep their 4++ from gunfire, but it isn't as hard as you might think. I choose the Big Mek over having 'Ard Boyz because almost everything being shot at you will break through it, and you're losing more expensive Boyz. Not much will negate your 4++ Invul.

Edit: also been addressed, but worth stating again: Your Tide Warboss cannot take the Lucky Stikk, since it is from the Codex. You can only take relics from the WAAAGH! Supplement on him.

But the Painboy can take it.

No, he cannot. He does not have access to Gifts of Gork and Mork.

I ran 2 games this weekend and talked to the guys at my store. The Green Tide seems very solid. I have also taken most of your advice.

Current List:

CAD:

HQ:

Warboss, PK, LS, Bike, BP. 140 (Bikers)

Pain Boy. 50 (GTF)

Troop:

10 Gretchin, RH. 35

10 Gretchin, RH. 35

Fast:

15 Warbikers, Nob, PK. 305

Heavy:

5 Kustom Mega Kannons. 150 (Behind ADL)

4 Traktor Kannons. 120 (Behind ADL)

Fortifications:

Aegis Defense Line, Icarus. 85

Green Tide Formation:

Warboss, PK, BBP. 110

100 Orks, 5 Nobs, 5 PK. 775

Total: 1805

I switched out Mad Dok for a Pain Boy and BBP which saved 85 points. I could drop the BBP and just eat the extra wounds from pinning tests. I think Fearless just makes them more of a threat and gives them staying power.

It was also consensus that I should put my Mek Guns behind the ADL and add one of the AA guns and attach it to the TKs. They add more Skyfire and Interceptor. I am leaning toward the Icarus because of the S9 and I can use my Ammo Runts to give it a reroll (also cheaper).

That leaves me with 45 points which I can spend on extra Gretchin or AR for the Mek Guns.

Thoughts?

Side Note I own all of these except for the Gretchin and ADL.

Why does your T7 artillery need to be behind a ADL? They will have a 100 boys in front of them giving them a cover save anyways. And the fact that it is T7 to boot means most weapons are not going to hurt them. I get the added AA coverage. Is Aircraft that big there? I might see an aircraft in a game where I play.

How did the bikes do? Did they survive good enough?

I don't see the need for 2 Warbosses. You could swap the first one for another Painboy on bike or a Big Mek on bike to help protect them. If need be. Or you could attach the KFF Mek to a Guns battery for a 5++ and better LD.

I just don't like AGL's in this game. They are not needed and just a way to make money on GW's part.

More bikes is more Betta.

In all honesty they did a lot more damage. The WB is for the LD9 and the Lucky Stikk. Plus he is a Bad Ass. Ask Git Grinda he will let you know how Dead Killy he is.

I might be the only person at my store that doesn't run planes or FMC.
The Eldar don't, but Skyfire works on Skimmers.

Also I'm buying my ADL from Wargamma. Cro Mag Scrap is more Orky. I'm still not sold on it, but if they take out my TKs I am screwed on AA.

Having the big boss pole on the tides warboss, will lose you the fearless when he's challenged out. I'd find a way to get another HQ with it in to take it or put Grotsnik back in.

Hes got 5 nobs to take challenges first. I think he will be alright.

The Warboss has to accept challenges if he is able to. It is a special rule for the Formation.

The only way I can see to get Grotsnik back is to cut bikes or the ADL. I'm not sure if he is worth it. He is 110 points more than the Pain Boy.

Suggestions on what should be cut to get him back would be appreciated.

My other thought is by the time my Warboss is in a challenge I should be up in their face, which means I will either win combat or auto pass Mob Rule. At that point what is a few more dead Orks?

Of course Barrage weapons can target him and Direct Hits will put him in a bad way.

Thoughts?

Oh ok, I didn't know about that. Well then I am not sure. That's from the Ghazz supplement right? If so isn't there a super cybork body? Could give him that to help out. I don't own it yet.

As far as cutting something the ADL. Its not needed IMHO. The biggest threat to the Mek guns are going to be barrage if they are behind the ADL anyways. So you might as well just keep the cover from the Tide in front of them.

Da Supa-Cybork: User gets FNP (5+) ,Relentless and eternal warrior. That is the description, as such it wouldn't do him much good.

I can drop the BBP, Pain Boy and the ADL/IL for MDG which would put me at 1805. Which is where I am at currently.

I guess it comes down to how worried I am that my Warboss will get whacked.
