Hello, I've been getting into 15mm scale lately, and I decided that I would like to convert a covenant army. I figure it would be easier than doing it in 28mm, after all.

I have been looking around, but does anyone have any suggestions to help me find some? Any models, infantry or vehicles, that could conceivably be altered or even used as-is with a good paintjob to be the covenant?

I'd appreciate the help

Halo Micro Ops is a range of 15mm Halo toys, don't know how cost effective they'd be to make an army from though...

thanks!

A banshee for $6.00 seems very reasonable.

Doesn't seem like they have a large range though.

I remember The Reject Shop might have had those (and the drop pods and warthog) for about that price, but this was a month or two ago so they might have been shuffled out by now

I found some 15mm Covenant-looking infantry over at Khurasan Miniatures a few months ago - granted, they have tails, but if you chopped them off I think they'd make some pretty good elites. Unfortunately, I have never actually bought anything from Khurasan Miniatures, so I can't give you any information as to the quality or comparative size of the models.

If it was me I would buy as much of the Micro Ops stuff as I could grab, and flesh out the armies using 15mm metal figures from another range. I wouldn't try to convert 15mm, it is too small and fiddly. If you get the right vehicles, though, and enough "real" Covenant signature figures to set the tone, you can explain away the non-Micro Ops models as being a previously unknown Covenant species.

Lizard men or something like that might work well.

I've made several purchases from Khurasan and the service has always been top notch. Khurasan and Ground Zero Games are easily my two favorite 15mm Sci-Fi manufacturers and have always been a pleasure to buy from.
