So I'm gonna be playing against someone who's just starting out. He's managed to collect 1000 pts of space marines.
So I made this list knowing nothing about what he's bringing to the table. I don't want to make this a boring fight and be one sided for either side.
After making it I kind of thought this may be too much. But then again it might not be so I leave it up to dakka to help me.

It's got lots of anti tank in form of rokkits and bomb squigs and power klaws.
The meganobz and flash gitz will deal with whatever threats I deem necessary.
The deffcoptas are for whatever needs to be killed ASAP with their scout move.

It's not much in terms of boyz but I think with everything in the list I could handle whatever he throws at me.

But the big question is. Is this too much for a beginner?

So it turned out he played chaos. And we bumped it up to 1250. So I just added a grot rigged morkanaught to my list.

It was a wipeout. I tabled him by turn 4. He had some bad luck with his deamon prince losing his last two wounds via periling and rolling a 1 on his black mace.

He had at the top of my memory.

1 Nurgle deamon prince with wings and armour lvl 3 pysker master and black mace.
Lvl 2 Nurgle sorc

10 marines with 2 melta guns and a plasma pistol
5 Nurgle possessed or something. He says they become troops with the supplement he used.

5 terminators with reaper auto cannon and combi melta.
A hellbrute.

I believe that was it.

I felt bad afterwards. He wiped out quite a bit with his prince. But unfortunately I just had too much on the table for him to deal with it all.
