Would you be interested in a plastic Sisters of Battle range?
Yes I really want plastic SoB
I might pick some up
I would be interested but don't really want to start collecting anything new
I probably wouldn't want to get any
I hate SoB and hope they never get updated
I don't care / I don't play 40k
I wouldn't buy anything from GW

I would really like to see some data on this because there always seems to be some debate on the forum as to what the interest in sisters really is. I have seen people say the SoB players represent anything from 14% to 1%, but a lot of polls don't really provide much insight into how many people would be interested in the army, only the number of people still willing to buy the old metal miniatures (which make them one of the most expensive armies at the moment).

I've designed the poll options to try and separate disinterest in SoB from other types of disinterest (such as hate towards GW in general), you can answer more than once if you're feeling especially ambivalent on the matter. I really just want to know what proportion of people would be interested in SoB if they had newer (better) plastic models at a more affordable price.

4 years ago I would have said yes, but I simply dont care what GW does so them releasing the range in plastic wouldnt even get me to pick up the army again.

Chances are they would be ill proportioned, chunky and expensive with a lack of options. And a lot of them will carry ceremonial rocks on which to place their back foot on to in battle.

GW killed all their armies for me, I reckon plastic sisters would end up being worse than metal ones. Personally.

If they look as good as the current metals, I'd collect at least an allied force, maybe more. I knew a guy who had a metal Sisters army and it was one of my favourites to see on the field.

Always wanted a Sisters army since day dot when I read about them in my first 3rd ed rule book and their hilariously sparse list of units (under 10 if memory serves)

If they look as good as the metal ones then hell yes a few squads of sisters and an immolator will be rocking onto my shelf. I agree with the previous post though that there is a chance GW will ruin them by grimdarking them and adding stupid stuff to the minis.

I would love to start a sister's force after i finish my Astra Millitarium/Tempestus force. Would make a great ally detachment and let mr run power armor with normal humans. I don't actually fear the models would look bad since the plastic stuff GW has put out recently has been amazing (Scions have rose to almost being my favorite infantry kit)

If you like the Scions, then you will love any kit GW puts out

Seriously though, those models may as well be monopose, but they come in annoying bits. I hope you enjoy ALL you plasma Gunners being the same pose, or all your vox casters screaming the same thing etc.

That kit, is needlessly and lazily done for the most bland results available for multipart kits, and they charge tonnes for it. If you want them to look different, or not all be stiff backed robots, you need to do heaps of work yourself.

Its kits like the scions kit that are high on the list for my reasons of disliking GW kits.

They had a cool idea, but horrible/lazy/bland execution. Which is exactly what I predict for any plastic Sisters they will probably never do.

One good thing about the Scions, is the lack of rocks under their feet like some other kits.

^ The reason for me voting the 4th option. When I'm looking at the style of current miniatures, I get an idea of the reigning art style - and it makes me fear for the day they actually touch SoB. It's kind of sad; on one hand I'd love to see GW finally treating them like a real army comparable to the rest of their product line, but on the other hand the recent releases have eroded my faith in regards to how any new minis might look. Damned if you don't, damned if you do, GW.

That being said, I also have a borderline silly affection for the metal minis, not just for how they look but also for how they feel. Comparable to the flimsy plastics, these girls actually weigh a bit, instantly making them appear more precious and serious.

The problem for me if they release a full plastic range of SoB is that GW has ignored the army for so long that I already have everything I need for a large army. Without an accompaning full codex update that has completely new units w/kits and more playstyle options there's no reason for me to buy them. Combine that with (in my view) the very poor state the current rules are in making me look elsewhere for entertainment I can't see myself making a purchase even if they were on the shelves tomorrow.

Double Fine Adventure, Wasteland 2, Nekro, Shadowrun Returns, Tropes vs. Women in Video Games, Planetary Annihilation, Project Eternity, Distance, Dreamfall Chapters, Torment: Tides of Numenera, Consortium, Divinity: Original Sin, Smart Guys, Raging Heroes - The Toughest Girls of the Galaxy, Armikrog, Massive Chalice, Satellite Reign, Cthulhu Wars, Warmachine: Tactics, Game Loading: Rise Of The Indies, Indie Statik, Awesomenauts: Starstorm, Cosmic Star Heroine, THE LONG DARK, The Mandate, Stasis, Hand of Fate, Upcycled Machined Dice, Legend of Grimrock: The Series, Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians, Cyberpunk Soundtracks, Darkest Dungeon, Starcrawlers

I have a KickStarter problem.

I for one knows that my two scions plasma gunners aren't in the same pose.

And really, its not like the metal stormtroopers or the kasrkins had variety in their designs, either.

Neither, but I shouldnt have to amputate my men just t have some ordinary difference.

I never said I liked the old ones either. But at least the olds ones had the excuse of being mono pose, its much better when I dont have to assemble my mono pose models.

Just my personal preference. Lazy stuff on GW part. Almost as bad as FW lazy in my opinion. Which is why the sisters would be ruined if they touched them.

Pfft. What kinda lazy people assemble the models off the sprue?

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

Too little, too late for me, IMO. Unless they are in a category that can only be considered "resplendent" and with a price that makes me want to buy it all.

$35 for five models is not said price, for the record.

Unfortunately I think at this point that ship has sailed for me. I'd love for Sisters to be done in plastic, but I haven't seen a plastic kit that I consider to be a reasonable price in a couple of years now, and I just can't see a plastic Sisters kit coming out at less than $60-70 for a squad of 10, the way GK's, Tempestus Scions, Dire Avengers, etc. are now, and I'm just not interested in plastic units at that price. I bought two 5man Scion kits and after that I told myself I'm not paying Forgeworld prices for plastic again.

They don't need plastics IMO. The existing sculpts are some of the best out there, and I much prefer metal to plastic anyway (really glad Infinity is sticking with metals), which is why I bought all the models I will ever need in case they do an update. Plus, some of the prices for single plastic models make Sisters seem like a bargain. The only issue for me is not being able to buy things in squads, so Seraphim for example get very expensive when bought individually.

If they released a big super heavy kit in plastic (maybe the cathedral on wheels thing) then I would buy that, but nothing else.

I'd definitely get some Sisters if they redo the range in plastic. Probably not an entire army, but 500-1000 points for use as allies in my other IoM armies.

I like the look of the models as they are now. A redesign like they did with the Stormtroopers/Scions would probably stop me from buying the new models.

If GW had a well priced set of plastic SoB with a good ruleset to play them in I would buy an army. Without the good ruleset I might buy a box or two for painting or use in other systems. Without the good price or plastic too and I won't buy any at all.

The cathedral on tracks is pretty easy to convert from a big 1/35 scale tank kit and a bunch of Pegasus Hobby gothic buildings.

Kid Kyoto did a nice one though I think he used Land Raiders and GW Imperial building kits.

yes I have thusands of pts of Sisters and would buy them

On the other hand I am somewhat nervous of what "cool" new ideas would arise..............

to be honest they would show up more in armies if they were cheaper/available in store and had a hard copy codex - some of the units are very very good - Dominons / Exorcists in particular and now Drop pods are a possblity through SW well................

I'm looking to get some Imperial G-*BLAM HERESY* Astra Militarum soon, and if Sisters got new plastic models then I would almost certainly buy a few to go as allies. As long as they don't keep their current price tag.

I wouldn't consider buying them as a full army, but I've always wanted to ally Sisters with a main Imperial force, and if that's how most people would field SoB then I can see why GW might not consider a plastic re-release.

Rather than an army used by 5% of players, wouldn't they get more sales when used as allies by 40% of players? There are a lot of Imperial players, that would be quite a lot of allies!

While I probably have all the Sisters I'll ever need, I seem to have a compulsion to keep acquiring more, so yeah, I'd probably pick up some just for conversion, if nothing else. I see a brisk trade in helmeted heads if they ever do release them in plastic.

I am sure that was GW's cunning plan when they introduced the Allies concept.

Unfortunately the cost of codexes being doubled no doubt worked against it. There is even less reason to buy a codex if you want to use only a few of the units contained as allies in another army.

Honestly I would probably pick up a couple of the models. I really like the idea of allying in inquisition type forces to my Black Templar.

But recently I have been working on a Custom Chapter (Thinking of going with the name Confessors) and they are very closely tied with the Ordo Hereticus. So picking up a couple Priests or penitent engines wouldn't be a stretch.

Of course. Love the Sisters, would love the customisation and extra bitz that plastics would bring. Plastic is also much easier to work with than metal.

As for whether GW would do a good job on them, I'm fairly optimistic that they would. The Sisters have a very strong aethetic, so I think that as long as they stick to it then the models would look good.
 Icculus wrote:

Ah, small tip, Sisters aren't Inquisition. They became Ordo Militant to the Witch Hunters for the Witch Hunters codex, but that went away after the Sisters went back to having their own codex.

But still, it's a perfect team-up. Both are brilliantly zealous, and even respect each other in the fluff.

The darkness between the stars

Always wanted to have a small elite force of Sisters. Nice aesthetic look, amazing helmets, very ra ra faitfhul. Hopefully if they got updated they might get a big model release with possibly even a church support force of priests, individuals holding icons of faith and ancient divine tech, having a troop choice of frat militia. Basically make them crusading possibly to reclaim a planet fallen to chaos or to get back something important lost. An escort force defending somebody of importance, a group defending a cathedral or such? Toss on the fact that you could ally them with ordo hereticus inquisitor because, whilst they aren't really ordo militant to the witch hunters they do have a very similar feel in many ways. That and I've been wanting to build a Black Templar force and small Salamanders group and basically go for the two perfect teams. Sisters+Salamanders for roasting time or BT+Sisters for that delicious match of zeal, religious fervor, and a combination of shooting and close combat love. Then just add those frat milita and you would truly see a sight like none other.
