Zealot Miniatures will soon be running 'Twisting Catacombs: A Dungeon Scenery Kickstarter'. This came about since there are many fun and fantastic Dungeon RPG Board Games available, both new and old, and they have some lovely character miniatures, that is for sure!

But what really makes these games into an involving and cinematic experience for all players involved - is the setting; the vast, magical, fantasy themed Dungeon! And to best spark the imaginations, your Dungeon needs atmospheric and detailed scenery and terrain, not just fiddly card counters! Step forward Twisting Catacombs!

This Kickstarter will vastly expand on the range of dungeon game scenery, decor and bitz which we already offer in the store, with a new, broad range of exciting miniatures and scenery for your games.

WIP pictures will be added here, but to keep up to date with all the goings on, be sure to follow us on our Facebook page or subscribe to our newsletter.

If you would like to get involved with feedback and suggestions, you can follow our topic on Ye Olde Inn here. All pledgers who are members of Ye Olde Inn forum will be given a special exclusive miniature once funding is complete.
May all your quests be glorious ones, Hero!

Welcome to the topic for our new Kickstarter project - Twisted Catacombs.

This topic is for somewhere to document the mini making progress, get feedback, ideas and show off pretty pictures

The aim for this KS is to compliment the many awesome dungeon crawler RPG games that are out there, turning them from a regular board game experience, with little card counters, tokens and 2D scenery, into something extra special for an engaging and cinematic gaming experience which will really draw people in. The scenery will encourage gamesmasters to make their own scenarios and use some imagination.
At Zealot, we dont devise rules and boxed games - we make aftermarket parts for games and models. So for out first Kickstarter; we are sticking to what we are good at and producing a load of cool extras and scenery that fit with your existing games. We hope you will help us make this Kickstarter, our grandest project to date, a big success!

Love that Indiana Jones plinth.

Question about the pile of bones: will they be cast as one piece or as a loose pile of bones (I prefer the latter).

Looking forward to seeing what else you're doing. Any traps or secret doors in the works?

These look pretty cool, how do I sign up for the newsletter? I couldn't see the option on your web page.

I particularly like both the stairways and the doors, will the doors be able to be opened and closed like the Advanced Heroquest doors?

How many pieces are you looking at making? Also what kind of price points are you thinking about?

I don't see the material listed, are these accessories resin? They look quite cool.

Hi Fugazi, glad you like em. The bones will be separately cast so you can scatter them as you want.
Yep secret doors, furniture and traps are all on the cards

Hi ULM , on the main page here http://www.zealotminiatures.co.uk/ there should be a box on the right hand side at the bottom of the sidebar to subscribe to the mailing list, thanks!

Doors will have two variants opened and closed, moving parts on resin miniatures is not really a good idea and youll eventually get a breakage (all my AHQ doors broke! )

How many pieces are you looking at making? Also what kind of price points are you thinking about?

Looking to do more doors, tiles, traps, furniture, treasure and loads more. Going to offer a few pledge levels for good value on the sets and then you can have all parts individually to tailor your pledge too.
Still have to do the sums on pricing - but rest assured - we are going to offer the best value we can.

I don't see the material listed, are these accessories resin? They look quite cool.

Thanks Ri. Its going to be resin, apart from a couple of injection moulded plastic parts like floor tiles and perhaps doors. May upgrade a few more to injection moulded pieces, if funding goes well. At the moment its just a matter of spreading the word!

Some classic dungeon dwelling goblins. Drunk sleeping sentry and the rest have multiple weapon options that can be swapped out.

I'm not as sure about the goblins, but the pillar looks great! Except the skulls detail- it's been so overdone by other companies, I'd prefer another motif there.

I would love to see these compared scale wise to things like Dwarven Forge or 28mm figures so we could see how they could be integrated into collections.

Thanks for the feedback guys. You are right RiTides, we are trying to avoid plastering everything with skulls, or it just looks tacky. So will strengthen the anti skull resolve !!

That said there is a skull on the latest gravestones But its a reference to a retro console game

Don't particularly like the goblins.

I mentioned it on Ye Olde Inn, but I'd like to see a HQ- and Descent-compatible terrain upgrade. This way, you'll have interest from BoardGameGeek.

Hope I can afford this stuff! (:

The stretch goals are falling fast. We've gone through 5 so far (monster skulls, axe, beer tankards, chaos stone and weapon rack).

Some confirmation on the Completionist level. In the description it says one of everything released. This is one of each "pack" that is listed in the Add-on section. For example barrels come in a pack of three, rats in a pack of 6, pillars in packs of 1 etc. etc. Sadly this does mean you only get one of each door type, but there are plenty of credits in that level to buy more doors

I would love to get in on this Kickstarter, but at 20 quid shipping to Oz, that is far more than I anticipated.

Good luck to this guys - the product looks really good!

Found a Hirst Arts caster in Australia: http://www.griffingrove.com.au/

Unfortunately, overseas shipping of dungeon terrain *is* expensive. Hope you UK folks are taking advantage of this KS project!

It does look really good, although a bit pricey. Smart product with all the dungeon tiles people have bought recently and need to populate, though!

We'll find out soon enough eh.

I'll probably go in for some of the stuff with loads of fiddly details, saves a ton of time over making yourself. I'm most interested to hear more about these rumoured plastic floor and wall tiles - how much will we need to hit to unlock them? HIPS or some other material? Who shall I make this cheque out to?

Oh, one clarification would be good; assuming I go in for, lets say, a Dungeon Keeper pledge, and I want to take the option to swap out the doors for additional Gold - does that choice affect any of the free stretch goals the pledge earns, or do I only have to give up exactly what's shown on the graphic in the "or swap for X gold" part?

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

Looks great. Shame I don't play any games that I could use it in.
Might pick up a few things for 'centre piece' models like the stairs.
The gold coins thing sounds a great idea too!

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Yep your right, the completionist includes one PACK of everything. The image on the KS has been updated to clarify this

Yea gohkm, that is the best shipping price we could do for 2kg of dungeony goodness to AUS. If you know someone you trust in your gaming group, who wants in too. Combined shipping for 2 pledges is just +£5.

Thanks for linking RiTides
Resin is the most labor intensive material to cast. But for KS we are obviously doing the best price we can on the pieces

Yodhrin, floor tiles have been pushed back. The mould for injection moulding was 10k, which would sink a massive amount of our budget. There will be more talk on these later. We would be able to offer them at 15p a tile if we get them into production and there is interest. Will do a survey later, but may end up being a Hirst arts style mould

Thanks Bubber Yea didnt think of that, the stairs would be an epic model base for a monster or hero!

My one question is how are pledges structured?

From what I'm seeing, there are 4 parts to each pledge:

The doors; which can be swapped out for gold
The additional pieces displayed below the doors
The additional good to further customize
and the free stretch goal tier levels (dependent on the pledge level)

Can anyone confirm this?

Yep riven, that is pretty much a good summary of how it works You can add more Gold with the add-ons if you like, and then pick extra scenery.

Or if you just want a few bits, there is the pure gold pledge (that can be topped up with a gold add-on) =)

Thanks GiraffeX, glad you like the pieces!
