So the fluff for this list is that it is the army that can be found on the phoenix kings personal warship. Fairly simple fluff, but it makes me rather limited in my unit choices but my thinking is to go with Sea Guard as my core acting as the Elves who operate the Phoenix King's ship. My Special choice is where the majority of my points sit with 2 sizable units of Phoenix Guard arriving on the battlefield as the personal army of the Phoenix King, and then a sizable unit of White Lions there as the Phoenix Kings personal guard. Final two bolt throwers that have been pulled off the ship to be brought to shore for battle. In terms of characters I decided that since the two units that I'm using a lot of are supposed to be the main detachments of them I brought both Korhil and Caradryan, then as a need for magic there is a level 4 (I don't know what lore to use, any advice would be great). And now the list;

Archmage
-Talisman of Preservation
-Dispel Scroll

Korhil

Caradryan

25 Sea Guard
-Full Command
-Shields

24 Sea Guard (Archmage in here)
-Full Command
-Shields

20 Phoenix Guard (Caradryan in here)
-Musician
-Standard
(No Champion, I figure Caradryan is leading the unit himself)

21 Phoenix Guard
-Full Command

20 White Lions (Korhil in here)
-Musician
-Standard
-Banner of the World Dragon
(No Champion, I figure Korhil is leading the unit himself)

Eagle Claw Bolt Thrower

Eagle Claw Bolt Thrower

Any advice would be great, and I really want to stick with the fluff which is the whole point for the list. I intend to take it to tournaments eventually and put together a display board that is the ship itself. I just love this fluff idea.

as long as your core is 600 pts then your good. Not sure the cost of your lords and heros so i'll assume each section is less than 600 pts

My first thought is that the Phoenix Guard are very resiliant, but not immune to harm from larger units. So, small units are still easy to eliminated. Drop the second squad of them and add more to both the 1st Phoenix Guard and White Lions.

I need to ask, what if you come up against a lord who you don't want to fight in a challenge? Currently your only option is to retire Caradryan and Korhil to the back row or have them murdered by something they can't handle. Put the champion into the squad to accept challenges they don't want to face.

As a rule if your squads contain a lord or hero then put one in, if your squads do not have a lord or hero then you must justify his cost in some way. That being said it is still nice to throw a champion at an Uber Lord and accept combat resolution than to lose multipule models to one guy.

Over all no Fast Cav or Eagles for extra drops, redirecting charges or hasssment units (ie. march blocking, war machine hunting, Ambusher hunting, etc) you may want to consider a plan for some of these things.

You might want to Switch Korhil and Caradryan around for gameplay.

Fluffwise, notsomuch, but each benefits the other unit more than he benefits his fluff unit.

Just quickly, what does Caradryan bring to the White Lions? I understand that Korhil makes his unit stubborn, but I don't see Caradryan's unit boosting ability

Nice to see a themed list but unfortunately I don't see it doing that well in a tournament scene. You need to get some board control either through more RBTs or some redirectors or ideally a combination of both. Why not have some Reavers or Eagles? Both fit the theme as they are used as messengers across Ulthuan. Or make your own 'Shore Riders' or something LSG themed. The lack of a BSB is also problematic. You can use a Sea Helm for this though still keep the theme.

Thoughts here. Turn the LSG into one big unit with a Sea Helm BSB, drop one unit of Phoenix Guard and add in two GE and maybe some more RBT? Perhaps expand the unit sizes on the Phoenix Guard and White Lions.

Themewise, I'd look at fielding:
Seaguard (duh)
At least 1 sea helm
Skycutter chariots
Bolt Throwers
Great eagles
Phoenix Guard

Then add a wizard with some magic to make the phoenix guard more deadly; or just go with heavens and drop comets on the bunker and those engaged with it.

My white lion unit has the win button banner, magic res is redundant unless I want to ignore the roll of a one always fails rule and just say white lions pass automatically (sarcasm)

Then Korhil is doubly redundant.

Nope Korhil kills characters some of whom can cause problems for the unit. Caradryan is better at it but Korhil is more fluffy and awesome.
