From the Flames of War forum:

John-Paul wrote:The Panther/Jagpanther is coming with the next LW book just after Christmas as well as some new Brit plastics, infantry and a couple of tanks. This is the final push into Germany and the night counter attacks. Plastics are coming out at one or more a month and will continue that trend so you have at least five more new sets before the end of the year.

Since we know where the Big Cats are being released, all that's left from the preview at last year's FlamesCon is the Tank Destroyers (M10, M10C and M36). That means we should see at least 3-4 plastic kits released for Operation Barbarossa.

The Late War book looks like it will cover Operations Plunder and Varsity. I'm predicting the kits will be LW British Infantry, a Sherman V/Firefly VC kit and I'm going to go out on a limb and say a Cromwell A27/Comet A34 kit.

As for Operation Barbarossa, reports from Wargames Illustrated #323 says we can expect several online briefings for German, Soviet and Axis forces.

When my colleagues chatted with mike haught he confirmed plunder/varsity as the next LW book - the idea of night attacking Germans is interesting

Were there not two sets of previews? My Google-fu is weak on my phone and my memory addled.

Also it occurs to me that M10s are potentially 'Brit plastics'.

Nope. Battlefront released only one set of previews at last year's FlamesCon. We should see another preview from this year's FlamesCon on October 18th-19th. All of their other plastic releases have been on a month-to-month basis.

The kit makes the M10 'Wolverine', the M10C 'Achilles' and the M36 'Jackson'. The Americans used the M10 and M36, while the British used the M10 and the M10C. It could fit under the Americans or British equally well.

Man I'd love to see a box of late war plastic Brit infantry. Their recent infantry releases are really some of the best I've seen.

Color me excited.

Over on the forums, someone mentioned that greens for British and Soviet infantry had been shown at Spiel '14.

No word on when you might see them released, however.

FlamesCon (Battlefront's version of GW's old Games Day) is this weekend. Last year they previewed nine plastic kits. There should be plenty of news forthcoming from the convention.

Ooh good looking out Eumerin. Im guessing late war Brits are plastic and metal soviets for Barbarossa? I know people have gripes about the plastic open fire tanks, but those plastic Infantry are my favorite plastic sculpts ever. I have pretty high hopes for late war Brits.

Well, the greens were mentioned in response to a "Why do Strelkovy - i.e. the type of infantry most needed in bulk - not have a plastic box out yet?" comment of mine. So I'm inclined to think that the Soviet infantry in question are supposed to be plastic. It certainly makes sense to have plastic Soviets - possibly more so than any other type of infantry (as so many figures are used). And I would expect that getting out a plastic Strelkovy box at the earliest convenient opportunity is on Battlefront's to-do list.

The thing is that plastics designed using CAD don't require greens or three up anymore as far as I know.

Hmm...

Dunno then. Either way, I'll be very surprised if plastic Strelk aren't announced at Flamescon. The number required to build a list quite nicely addresses the biggest problem with plastic - i.e. the need for volume of sales.

BF's plastic kits have been plagued by illogical decisions. We'll see how it pans out. Flamescon is this weekend IIRC.

My guess is that the (announced) Varsity/Plunder book and a (speculated) Battle fro Berlin book will finish the war.

I'm hoping mid war is broken up into specific battles (which are not compatible) rather than the current set up split by campaign.

Plastic Cromwells and Comets along with plastic infantry have been spotted at FlamesCon (no pics yet).

As for books, Early War is complete with the release of Barbarossa other than a few PDFs. The next two books are a Six Days War book next month and Operation Varsity/ Plunder book shortly after Christmas.

Does the shurzen on the StuG have the right number of panels?

Hopefully there will be more to come.

Flames of War News:
Additional to the ShermanV/Firefly plastics, there will be a new StuG III plastic set, too. Way better than the old ones and you are going to find them in the new Open Fire Box.
In spring 2015 a plastic Tiger I E and a Cromwell/Comet box will be released.
Later 2015 (sommer or fall) there will be Russian and British plastic infantry.

It was a joke. I believe Battlefront learnt their lesson after the fiasco with the plastic Panzer IV H Schürzen.

Comet is interesting though I can't see them selling enough of them for late war to justify a plastic kit. The rest (so far) is just trailing PSC.

I see them selling as many plastic Comets as they've sold plastic Pershings.
