Hi. I normally stick to 1500 point armies, but I thought I'd try my hand at putting together a 2000 point list. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

HQ

Librarian w/Jump Pack (Goes with Assault Marines)
= 125 pts

Captain Tycho – 175 pts (Goes with Sternguards)

Elites

Sanguinary Priest w/ jump pack (Goes with Assault Marines)
= 75 pts

Sternguard Veteran Squad – 125 pts
+ 5 x Combi-melta
= 150 pts

Chaplain w/Jump Pack – 125 pts (Goes with Assault Marines)

Troops

5-man Death Company + Lemartes – 250 pts
+ Jump Packs
= 325 pts

Assault Squad
+ 5 Assault Marines
= 190 pts

Dedicated Transport

Drop Pod – 35 pts (for the Sternguard Veterans)
+ Deathwind Missile Launcher
+ Locator Beacon
= 65 pts

Fast Attack

5 – man Vanguard Veteran Squad – 165 pts
+ Thunder Hammer/Storm Shield
+ Lightning Claw Pair
+ 2 x Power Weapon
+ Power Fist for Sergeant
= 285 pts

Attack Bike w/Multi Melta x 2 – 100 pts

Heavy Support

Stormraven Gunship w/Hurricane Bolters – 230 pts

Vindicator – 155 pts

So your plan is to add three IC's into a single squad that will now cost twice as much.
I can understand the Librarian, a good choice buffs your squad greatly.
And Priest is easily justified with FnP, a great choice.
But what on Earth is that Chaplain doing? Why do you need Fearless with Ld10? Why do you need re-rolls when you can just cast Presience, which is also more effective.
The Chaplain is simply a waste of points in this list.

Your list has many unnecessary point sinks.
Vanguard Veterans are a prime example. With that loadout they cost astonishing 57 points per model. Fifty-seven.
That is simply too much for own wound and 3+ armor.
If you want to use them, keep it cheap. PF on Sergeant? That's okay, maybe add a PW or LC if you insist, but that's it. Melta bombs is your best choice.

Pretty much the same with DC. Expensive unit for only 6 models that can easily be shot off the table.
Sorry mate, but JPDC isn't a valid option in this codex.

I should have made my strategy more clear. The Death Company will be going in the Stormraven, which can carry six jump pack infantry, who can assault immediately upon leaving it. On the charge, that unit has thirty attacks between them at strength five, or indeed strength seven in the case of Lemartes. The thinking behind the Vanguard Veterans was that they can deep strike next to the Sternguards using the Locator Beacon on the Drop Pod, and, thanks to Heroic Intervention, assault immediately, preferably against a tank of some kind. I can see your point about the Chaplain, but I normally roll on telepathy because of Psychic Shriek, which is normally devastating against a unit you're charging into. Not to mention the fact that the Chaplain is powerful in close combat thanks to the strength buff from the Crozius Arcanum. What do you think about the Sternguards? My plan is to have Tycho go with them in the drop pod because of his combi-melta.

Sternguard is an excellent unit for that purpose.

And I will also be more clear now.

DC: a good idea, but if you do that they really don't need the Jump Packs. At least not for the first charge. Just ask yourself, are you willing to play those 75 points for their movement after the first charge?

And VV: at least one of them will most likely die to Overwatch (or Interceptor weapons). Maybe even two, so you should have a body or two to take the shots. Because if you charge and that PW guy dies to ow, it hurts.
After that you will be in CC, maybe lose a guy yourself and wipe the enemy out. Then you will be shot to pieces.
So, you lost a unit of almost 300 points and took out a single target. Very few enemies are worth that.
My advice is to keep them cheap or leave them home.

About the ASM squad: still definetly not worth it. You have a squad of over 500 points and it's only 15 wounds with 3+ and no Inv. Eugh... Just imagine, in a killpointgame that's 4 points in a single unit! Awful.
Even if you go with Telepathy, the Chaplain is still too expensive and adds too little. Remove it, add a PF to Priest, 2 Meltaguns to the squad. Far more efficency and you save 80 points.
