hiya. people. just a simple thread showing some of the stuff ive been painting.
First up is my Outer Rim smuggler. I figure if your gonna be sneaking round the dark backwaters of the Outer Rim then bright yellow is the way to go. No-one would suspect you.
This one is part of my pirate squadron. All decked out in the same subtle colour scheme.
Basic modification to the model, placed cockpit in the centreline, added a few new armour plates, attached a pointy thing on the side..it does something really important im sure...something to do with Parsecs im told...and point the antenna dish backwards to confuse attackers from the rear.

Heres my other YT-1300. Keeping the more traditional Falcon scheme. Totally repainted in acrylic with oil washes and weathering. The laser blasts are just stretched sprue, glued into tiny drilled holes. Dead easy to do and quite effective. They are pretty flexible and have withstood quite a bit of gaming without falling off. Easy enough to replace though if i ever do have an accident..

Yeah they are indeed. It's a cool game. The models are really nice to paint up. Bar a couple of tie fighters I've custom painted all my x-wing stuff. Will post other ships soon.

I just started playing/ collecting. I was not aware the models were so adaptable to conversions and repainting. They look really good.

my Slave 1 repainted. With brass rod laser blasts. i'm looking at building one of these with an interior next time. The glass is just far too big to be just black. will probably need to get casting in clear resin.

a little bit of Warhammer. I loved the Terrorgeist model. Merged it with a bit of the Gardens of Morr set. Im surprised it all fit on the regular Terrorgeist base but I managed it. Build upwards not outwards.

You're probably better off heat forming acetate sheet - use some instant mould over the model before you cut away the cockpit, make a cast in something hard (milliput), tidy that up as a dolly for it.

Thanks very much fella. Good thinking. I shall have to do a few practice attempts. One more project on the go I've also gotta sculpt a tiny cockpit and a tiny Fett. yayyy...

Some Star Wars models I did for a commission. Not the best photo as the bases aren't done yet. But I forgot to do a photo of the final models. Oops. mperial Assault., source of the best Star Wars miniatures.
