The Project

Chris Bledsoe was a bright light in the miniatures gaming community. He helped create rules for Warzone, Chronopia, Mutant Chronicles, and Crucible. He had key roles at both Heartbreaker and Ral Partha. In 2001, he opened ZN Games to pursue starting his personal dream of creating his own miniatures and games. However just as he could get started, Chris passed away from cancer in 2002.

Chris's story was a powerful one to me as I have long hoped if anything happened to me that the work I've done on Impact! could continue. I've been in discussions with Chris's father (Kevin) and he has agreed to work with Impact! to return Chris's ZN Games line of miniatures to production. .

The funding goal of $5000 will allow us to bring back 41 of the original ZN Games miniatures to retail production along with 1 new figure from the Goblinaid campaign. We selected a mix of fantasy adventurers and airships for the starting miniatures. More figures will be added to the KickStarter with stretch goals when reached.

Kevin Bledsoe and Impact! have also agreed to establish after the KickStarter is over a Pay-It-Forward memorial in Chris Bledsoe's name. 10% of the sales of any of these figures made by Impact! after this KickStarter will be used to fund other miniature KickStarters so that Chris' love of miniatures can help other companies successfully fund their dreams of creating miniatures. We will regularly report in the comments of this KickStarter the amounts in this fund so it 100% transparent.

We want your feedback, so please leave comments. We plan to engage our backers and would love ideas for what figures should be unlocked next as stretch goals.

How big are those air ships, they would be cool as ships for Batttle fleet gothic.

So they're planning on running another Kickstarter? Before they get all the shipping done for their last one, which remains unfulfilled as of yet?

Yes but they are very reliable 18 (I think) KS projects run,

16 delivered (almost all on time or early),

2 yet to deliver (but neither are late)

the Horned Barbarian with the Axe (repeated in each image) is 28mm to the eye so gives a good idea of how big the other stuff is

Those bigger versions of the scale and size pictures here is a lot better indication than the one on the KS page. I can see a lot more of the details on the figures here.

Maybe I'll end up grabbing a few figures in the end. I'll definitely be grabbing some of those scout ships. Very retro scifi looking. I have absolutely no clue what I'll do with them though- maybe paint them up and make wooshing sounds around the house with them?

KickStarter has limits on image size. I have the large version linked on a click through link. I'll bold that to make it more clear.

I have an idea to help us cross the funding goalline. I'm doing research on it right now to look into including it in. Definitely committed to this project so everyone stay tuned.

Alien ships / Insectoid swarm miniatures added to KickStarter

Last two days were great funding days. We want to keep the momentum going. I was able to work with Troll Forged to get the 3 sculpts that ZN Games had made as enemies for the Steampunk Airships to fight as part of our original budget for the project.

As a result you can know get all 3 of the Alien ships with your points. You can get an invasion fleet of 10 ships for 38 points. Individual Warp Flies are 4 points, Acid Flies are 5 points and the larger Karapis is 6 points.

These give you a second faction to us with the Steampunk Ships or they just make good dungeon insectoid monsters.

Each of these miniatures will include a flight stand.

Chris was a childhood friend of many of our club-mates and this is very dear to us. We are working with Impact! Miniatures to offer something special for the fund raiser this fall as well.

I am working on what I hope to be a big announcement for tomorrow that will I am hoping get this project to reach a Funded status. I do plan to still honor the $7k stretch goal ... let me get this first announcement out and then I'm willing to have a poll so that everyone can vote on what they want for that stretch goal should it be reached.

What's that you say? What could I uses these airship minis for? All will be revealed in the latest update

New Airships vs Aliens Board Game ... and ... 50% Funded

Thank you backers we reached 50% funded at the half way point of the duration of the KickStarter. Thank you for helping us reach this point.

I've been listening to a lot of the feedback and one of the requests was to give the airship miniatures a game. With that request I have worked with my friends to create a easy to learn strategy board game that can make great use of the ship miniatures.

Introducing Airships vs Aliens the board game. Below is a Photoshop'd image of how the game will look with an example of a game in process (the Airships just completed their 2nd move).



Airships vs Aliens Board Game is a quick strategy board game for 2 players with one player defending the Earth with 10 Steampunk Airship miniatures while the opposing player attempts to win the invasion using 10 Alien ship miniatures.

Airships vs Aliens is a simple strategy board game but has complex strategies due to the use of limited command tokens and possible reinforcements of previous destroyed ships. The Airships vs Aliens game has free international shipping.

If we can get backers for all 50 copies, the KickStarter will fund and we can start discussing stretch goals which would be great. To help us reach that point we could use the help of our current backers to let anyone you can about the 50 copies of the game to help us get this funded. Sorry RiTides. The game image is half picture and half Photoshop. Since the Alien ships are still just greens I had to stage what the game might look like. I'm glad my skills were at least good enough that it seemed like a bad picture instead of someone clearly hacked together with PS.
