I think there were wishlists more than rumours. People were expecting the characters that were dropped to come back as dataslates but they never did.

I figured. For the longest time they where saying that a white scars supplement would come out

i want Alrihim really badly as my regiment is based on outflanking and aircav. without outflanking im majorly boned.

There will be no dataslates for the IG. Making dataslates for IG means making them for armies that aren't Cadian (unless they make a Cadian dataslate, which I'm not sure anyone would buy given that the existing codex already lets you make a Cadian army). Apart from the Catachans, none of the other IG armies exist in plastic. Since GW is phasing out its non-plastic models, it is highly unlikely that they will release dataslates for IG armies that exist only in metal (Mordians, Tallarn, etc). GW will not replace metal figs with plastic lines, because the codex is already out and GW only releases new models with a new codex. How many new SM kits have we gotten for SMs after the inital wave when C:SM landed? None? Exactly.

All the IG kits we are going to get with this codex we have already gotten. So: no new models means no new armies.

The only possibility is that GW will pull a CSM on us and give us a dataslate for an IG army that nobody had ever heard of before and which uses exclusively Cadian models so they don't have to release any new kits (much like the Crimson Slaughter).

Of course, since that would be just a matter of writting some rules and taking photos of existing models (basically a zero-effort job) the fact that we haven't gotten anything like that by now is very telling.
