I'm really impressed with the Panzer 38t

These look awesome!

Big P, will this kit be able to make the Marder III M or just this version?

Another unrelated question; any news on the Sd Kfz 250? It's mentioned on PSCs website but do you have any more details on progress? I'm holding off an Aufklarungs company until they come out...

I'm not Big P but I can answer that question. There won't be a Marder III M option in the kit, but there will be an option for the Marder III H.

Depends on the M actually... being looked at, as we may go up a sprue size to get more on.

You will have to wait and see, depends how costs work out etc. So nothing decided as yet.

Im just waiting on word to start the historical research to give to tge design team for the 250.

So there's still a chance that the Marder III M will be on the same sprue as the other three variants? PSC's Facebook page just said "... 5 sprues in the box and each sprue will have the option to build 38T, Marder III Sdkfz 139 7.62mm Pak 36(r) or Marder III H..." but the Marder III M would make it more attractive to late war players. Now if you can just get the bitz to make a Flakpanzer 38(t) on the sprue as well...

Looks like I'm still holding on the Aufklarungs then... I need about 20 half tracks and looking at BF prices for them my wallet had a heart attack!

Thanks Big P

I am certainly hoping for a III M option. My Fortress Italy FJ would really like to use the III M.

However, even if there isn't a III M option, that looks to be one of the nicest PSC kits I have seen.

I would also be a happy happy tank hunter if a follow-up kit came with III M/ Hetzer. That would give a nice split and seperate the late war stuff.

As would I. I thought that was the plan originally, but I can see where the Hetzer would actually only need the tracks from the kit and would leave a lot of unused bitz on the sprue. Anyway, if they can't fit the Marder III M on the sprue with the Panzer 38(t) then hopefully we will see a kit with the Marder III M/Hetzer/Flakpanzer 38(t)

There is a chance of the M but it depends on the piece count and more importantly, the rear hull detail.

It will likely be on a 'late war' sprue with the Hetzer, but that requires a wider hull as the Hetzer was wider than a 38t, so its all a matter of seeing what fits best and is most economical.

I can live with the Hetzer being a separate kit if necessary. Any chance of the Flakpanzer though? To my (admittedly) untrained eye, it doesn't look significantly different to the Marder III M and would make a good dual kit.

Any chance of Aufklarungspanzer 38(t) (SdKfz 140/1) making it into the set as well?

OMG I NEED THEM NOW!!

I actually mean it. These look terrific.

Funny, I was comparing my PSC Panther tanks to my BF Panthers just the other day, night and day difference, no real comparison. PSC just blows BF out of the water detail wise.

Spacemanvic - can I ask, I assume you mean the PSC Panther boxset compared to the BF Plastics (GBX66 http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=3278 )

I ask as I'm torn over which panthers to get. Perhaps not the place to ask, but can anyone comment how the PSC plastic Panthers compare to BF's resin plastics or perhaps Peter Pig's metal ones?

I have PSC panthers and BF jagdpanthers resin+plastic (other stuff and US also from PSC and BF).

In general:

PSC just cut from sprue and glue and perfect. Same for BF plastic only (M26, US halftrack).

The BF resin hulls are awful IMHO, if you see it as art it's ok, but I like it precise.
You have to fill or rasp the resin hull to get it straight, otherwise there will be a 1mm hole between the hull and the track and the whole tank will waggle on the ground, I have other idea of quick assembly.

Shortly: go for PSC if available.
