Subject: What do you use to mark out scenario zones etc?
So we are just getting into this game and have mostly just played Caster Kill and some of the simpler scenarios in the rulebook. But watching Battle Reports there appears to be a ton of really cool missions using scoring zones of different sizes and shapes.
I've seen some people use swatches of fabric or paper templates which works OK but doesn't look very aesthetically pleasing. Has anyone made terrain style zones which better suit their table?
Also how diverse are the zones between the different missions? Do they mostly use the same dimensions or will I have to make quite a few different sizes to accommodate the many options?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

The two size zones the PP uses is a 12 inch diameter circle, and a 12 by 6 inch rectangle. Some missions also have flags and/or objectives. Flags use the medium size bases and objectives use large bases.

Excellent. That sounds completely doable even for a procrastinator like me.
What do you use for the zones in your games?

Yup. Some people have very basic zone markers and flags. Others have very elaborate ones.
I'm partial to pieces of felt for zones. For flags and objectives I often use empty bases, though I hope to make some more elaborate ones at some point.

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios
Felt is best. Available at any store. cut it out to size.
You will also need flags and objectives.
Objectives are PP large bases(50mm) and flags are medium bases(40mm)
Plenty of 3rd party retailers make objectives and flags for warmachine.

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.
Discount Games Inc (the guys that do Chain-Attack) sell zone markers. I'm pretty sure they are just that mesh shelf liner but they are cut to the right sizes and pretty cheap.
I see. I'd like to make some of my own with terrain elements as I don't like the jarring look of the fabric pieces.
The most important factor would be to keep 3D elements to a minimum so as not to block model access and LOS too much I suppose.
I was thinking I'd try and theme them to our forces if possible.
We play:
Menoth
Cryx
Trollbloods
Skorne
(Thanks Miniature Market!)
Any concepts for inspiration would be welcomed.
