Quick question that I couldn't answer by searching:

Why do the entries for Space Marine Assault/Devastator Centurions not list the Centurion armour under wargear, and why is there no entry to said armour anywhere in the Codex Space Marines?

Even Artificer armour is listed under wargear and it has an entry in description.

It *is* pretty much Artificer armour, isn't it? So why not list (and describe) it?

[I hope this isn't a totally stupid question.]

Normally, armour listed in the wargear can be referenced by multiple units, or comes up as purchasable equipment. A space marine captain can buy artificer(?) or terminator armour to replace his power armour, so those all have wargear entries.

Centurion armour is unique to centurions, so it's built into their unit entry. They just intrinsically have a 2+ save and slow and purposeful.
Dont ask why that is, but chaos obliterators and mutilators (essentially the same units) have fleshmeta (artificer)l armour as wargear.

Centurion Warsuits grant a 2+ armor save, +1 toughness, +1 wound, the ability to hold 2 heavy/salvo weapons and shoot them in the same turn, and grant slow and purpousful.

No other unit can equip them other than Centurions so there was no need to make it a wargear option.

I'd love to be able to give my Chapter Master a suit with a siege drill, twin-linked meltagun, hurricane bolter, and the shield eternal though so I wish they were a wargear option.

It's like Predators.
They are really a Rhino with armour and guns in place of seats. But, instead of being a Rhino with the Predator Wargear, it's just a Predator.

And it's not a stupid question.

Its because no other unit can or is designed to get Centurion suits. They don't grant anything. The units have all the special rules built in already.

I want centurion armour to be a captain wargear choice when they do a new codex.

Would be flufftastic for my IF successor I have a big siege captain armed with heavy bolters and hurricaine bolters

I'm hoping the assault suits get the buff the Siege Dreads get in forgeworld books.

With heavy flamers that can pen into transports/fortifications and flame the insides like broiled chicken.

Both the assault/mutilators just need buffs so bad.

Thanks for the answers. So they could've listed Centurion armour under their wargear (sorry for the confusion, I was only talking about their own wargear entry, not the general one where other units can pick and choose), where it isn't listed but probably should've been.

Seems like Centurions are even more attached to their armour than Obliterators
(Thanks to McGibs for comparing the two.)

Don't forget +1 strength, because power mittens.
