Hello one and all, my brother and I are starting up a Beastman Army based on the Southern Chaos Wastes herds. If any of you have seen my Plague mutants for Deadzone then this will be taking a similar direction, paint scheme wise. generally a lot of dark browns/dirty black/maybe some dark greens, plus baleful yellow, possibly red eyes.
In the process of knocking some Centigors together at the moment. Can't quite bring myself to part with £40 for 5 resin centigors.. My brother (having the better greenstuffing sculpting skills than me) has cobbled together some Marauder Horsemen/Gor conversions which I'll post probably this evening.

First test Gor- not sure where to go with the fur though.

Suggestions welcome.

Very cool! Always fun to look at other people's Chaos conversion blogs....gives a guy inspiration and such.

Always better to build your own than buy it from a box. Nice Centigors.

Particularly when it's £42 for 5 horrific failcast models!

I really like those Centigors. You should send me half a dozen of them for my Beastman army.

I prefer plastic myself. Easier to work with on conversions, acceptable level of detail. IDK why they use that resin BS.

Something to contrast to that fur maybe in a Wildebeest style.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Actually, FInecast resin is super-easy to cut, and superglue holds it together really well. Some models are notorious for casting poorly, but aside from that, you really can get more detail in resin models then plastic - you don't have to be as "two dimensional" with your parts.

Just a small update today- managed to bag myself a really sweet deal on a Beastmen Battalion on eBay- 45GBP instead of 60GBP!! Nice saving of 15GBP!!
So that's x2 boxes of 10 Gors, x1 box of Bestigors and x1 box of Ungors/meat shields. I think that about does it for my core wouldn't you say?

Mail drop...

Beastmen Battalion for 45GBP from eBay. And it's all mine! Muahahaha...ahem.
Already got my first 10 Un-gors assembled as Un-gor Raiders. Laughably puny when you stand one next to a Gor or Bestigor. I'll be using them as a harassment regiment mainly to plink arrows at people. Just to be a jerk of course.

I think I'm going to keep my Uruk-Hai style flesh scheme as I can pretty much imagine them sounding like that. My Great Bray shaman will be painted a dirty white/grey colour and named Sarr'Uman the White.

Awesome. How much are those usually? Oh wait English bucks.... well that's still a discount so cool

I like beastmen, they're like those goat demons from diablo, they make amusing sounds when you slaughter them en masse

Usually go for 60GBP so I got about 25% off on that box set.

That's not bad at all then.

You paid what 45 pounds for 40 models? A pound a model, not quite 2 bucks each? That's not bad at all really.

Yeah- last second auction sniping got me that deal lol.

The Halfhorn is missing his shield arm at the moment as it'll get in the way of the spray paint when I come to undercoat it.
On a further note, you may notice that my pictures are much improved thanks to getting my upgrade phone last week. Samsung Galaxy Note III= awesomeness.

Had a play around with the Gor kit today. Gotta say I do love the regiment leader for this lot... Used a spare arrow from the Un-Gor kit to give him the badass look..
