I love being the evil guys in warhammer, but the armies I play I find far too predictable. I wanted to start a demons army because I like the Idea of spawning stuff in and the special rules. When I see battle reports they are almost never an army themselves and just a detachment for chaos marines. Why? I dont have the luxury of being able to go to my local store to check them or the codex out first hand, so what are some of the cool things they can do, why are they only ever a detachment, and can you spawn a variety or a lot of things/use sweet warp powers?

Chaos Daemons are a lo of fun and are a really unique army as the Gods all play differently to a degree.

The reason you see a lot of mix is that Chaos Daemons and Chaos Space Marines compliment each other so well and their Battle Brothers.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

If your wish is unpredictability....,. Daemons are your army.

Load up on Tzeentch units, so you can maximize warp charges. Then roll on malefic for your spells. Guaranteed conjuration spells. Now your dropping more units than the opponent can deal with.

All your gifts are rolled on charts. So some randomness there too.

Depending on what you roll pregame, you can be the full range.... from super-powerful...... to having a big uphill battle before you.

It is expensive to acquire that many models, however. And there are some hard counters on the competitive scene.

With my eldar I had the issue of only being able to pick from telepathy, my army charts or diviation, which can daemonds use? Any unit recommendations that are a must for small point games?

They struggle at being ranged. Bloodletters especially, they can't charge the turn they are summoned. Great unclean Ones with various powers like Invisibility and Endurance can be really fun. Daemons of Slaanesh are fun, pretty fast too, and Pink Horrors are very strong ranged/psykers. You can run them as a single army, but they just compliment way better with CSM. Google some Daemon lists, you can find some good ones, but too often its CSM allied with Daemons.

Yeah both my current armys are very, very shooty and the main people I fight are pretty melee focused anyways and I think its fun just to keep piling people on them
