'lo there
I'm playing against a tau player that is known to use riptides and have come up with the following list. We're playing a game without fliers and I know he has one to two riptides in his army.
The plan is to use craft maneuvers along with the vindi, sternguard and ASM as a distracton so the land raiders can deliver their packages to the tau lines.

Any feedback appreciated.

Looks pretty good. Dual Land Raiders is nothing to sneeze at.
Also love the Vindicator.

Just a couple of things I would consider:
1) Why the mixed weapons on Sternguard? Mixed is always worse than specialized. With Terminators and Vindicator, you can rip heavy infatry apart really fast, so I owuld focus on AT with adding more combi-melta and maybe removing the flamer ones.

2) Your Assault Squad seems a bit weak when compared to the rest of your heavy armored list. I would actually consider dropping it to fill the rest of your list.
You could swap them for another Razorback squad. Or add another AV13 tank. Do you happen to own another Vindicator?

3) Just a couple of wargear things. Adding TDA to your Priest and Multi-melta's to your Land Raiders.

My brother plays tau and i play blood angels. The only ways I've ever knocked out his riptide is once with lucky krak shots from devs and an attack bike melta, and once in one turn of cc with a librarian force axe. I think the librarian with force axe is a great weapon against a riptide. And it's cheaper than a reclusiarch.
Maybe put the priest and the assault squad with the libby. No jumppacks. Put them in the crusader. And drop a terminator so they can go in your other land raider. Put those dc in a pod with extra points from that dropped 6th terminator.
Priest gives you +1S on that charge out of the land raider. Riptide are pretty slow, i bet you can run it down with your raider. So axe with furious charge gets you S7 ap2. He just gets his 5up save and if he fails you use the force weapon psychic ability to instant death him.

Lately ive been playing with minimal dc out of a storm raven to kill anything i want. That's what they good for. So maybe put them in your other land raider and rend that riptide to death. Maybe take 5 or so. That's 25 attacks with reroll to wound. You would have s5 on charge so you need 6 to wound anyway so with every wound you dont rend you reroll. Nasty against high T models.

Furious charge and Axe only give +1S each, so it's S6AP2 on charge. Just a minor point.

The only problem with that otherwise great loadout is that Riptide can challenge (IIRC).
If you accept, it's going to stomp you with I2 and if you don't, then no swinging for you.

And against Tau, 10 Marines is a lot. I have been running 5 Assault Marines in LRR with either Corbulo or Ordo Xenos guy.
Surprisingly, they can deal with a Rptide quite well if you get close enough.

And only now did I read your OP properly, silly me

So new points:
1) maybe combi-Plasma is the way to go. They will hunt Riptide(s if they survive).
2) Tau are built upon lots and lots of infantry. Weak infantry. So why are you palkinto so many weapons against heavier infantry, like the Termies?

Reclusiarch
6x Death Company, Power Fist
- LRC (MM)

Sanguinary Priest (Power Weapon/Fist)
5-9x ASM, Power Fist
- LR (MM)

7x Sternguard
- 4x combi-Plasma, 2x combi-Melta
- Drop Pod

Vindicator

This would be a good core. It's something like 1100-1250 so there's plenty of room to add the stuff you like.

Well I've played the game and took some of the advice into account. I replaced the flamers with plasma guns and swapped the death company into the crusader instead of the regular raider.

The match went very well, ending with his surrender after I killed most of his battlesuits, farsight and his three riptides, one of which being the character. The sternguard took out the first after his intercepting failed miserably and the rechlusiarch with death company hunted down the other two.

I anticipated that he would fit out his riptides for anti air purposes which is why I didn't bring my stormraven.

I do however wonder about the vinidcator. Although it was a great terror weapon and pinned down his right flank almost on it's own it didn't manage to any real damage, only shaving a wound off a riptide and killing a drone.

I want this list to be an all round one and although it dismantled the tau, I was wondering if you think that it can be applied outside of anti tau?

Well, Vindicator relies on the Large Blast. When firing at things like Riptides, they lose their main point of being able to execute ten Terminators with ease

Might have just been bad rolling tough...
