Hey fellas! !
What do you guys think about a tournament set up using just the lists from the "Forces" book?
I think they are all playable lists and would give an " even footing" for all comers.
Thoughts?

I think it would be decent, but alot of people would disgruntle about.BEcause of the limited options of the forces.

Indeed there would be the disgruntled, but I think any player worth his tactical "salt" would be up for the challenge.

I'd be up for it. Our local groups don't recognize Forces as a 'legal' book apparently.

I would do it. I don't really think it's that limiting.

If people want to play in that environment they will. Plenty of events are theatre specific too, if you don't like it/don't have a force you don't go

Are the "forces" army lists legal to play at a late war tournament?

Depends on your Tourney Organizer.
Many (most?) don't recognize the book as legal for events.
If you're the TO, then it's your call

I'd personally love to play using Forces only.
I'd also love to play in an event where you either play 2 games with each opponent, swapping sides afterward OR an event with pre-generated lists.

Have you seen the Normandy battles book?
There is a really cool scenario in there that has to do with a lone tiger tank taking on a supply convoy...that would be a cool tournament style game....just my opinion though!!

Or reverse it and use a American 76mm tank and call it, the Fury Scenario.

Had not seen it but it sounds interesting.
Sort of a reverse OGRE if you're familiar with the 1970s boardgame.

Pre-generated lists/scenarios like the Normandy - Hell in the Hedgerows for Battlegroup series of games (but could be adapted for other systems) are kind of what I'd be after:

That way the game hinges on how you play, not how you choose to min-max your force.
Swapping sides with each opponent also helps balance things out somewhat (you both will see what worked/didn't for the other guy last game).
