So, I was planning on playing Skaven, but one of my friends has his heart set on them, so thought I'd play Lizardmen to give our group more variety. We're playing 2000 points. Just wondering how good this list is.

Slann Mage-Priest - Becalming Cognition, Wandering deliberations, Harmonic Convergence, Channeling staff BSB, Standard of Discipline, Ironcurse Icon - 440

Scar Veteran - Carnosaur, Armour of Destiny, Shield, Spear - 356

Saurus Warriors x 16 - Spears, Full command - 206

Saurus Warriors x 16 - Spears, Full command - 206

Skink Skirmishers x 12 - Patrol Leader - 94

Temple Guard x 20 - Standard Bearer - 290

Bastiladon - Solar engine and 3 crew - 150

Ancient Stegadon - Sharpened Horns - 250

Total:1997

Looks really solid. Lots of infantry blocks with monster saturation so you won't be devastated by one bad cannonball. I probably wouldn't bother with spears on the saurus, though. Just leave them with hand weapons and get a parry save. More than likely that third rank will be dead by the time they're in combat and swinging anyway.

Might also be worth experimenting with dropping the carnosaur vet and adding in scar vets on foot in each saurus block for added punch. Saurus are nice but they will lose combat to a large variety of different units.

16 and 20 are woefully small. You'll be able to hold your own against mediocre units, but not anything that poses a threat.
I'd combine the two Saurus blocks into 30, and use the points saved to bulk out the Temple Guard.

OR

You could drop the Slann and the Temple Guard. Upgrade the Scar-Vet to an Old Blood.
Use all the extra points to get some Rippers, Terradons, Salamanders, and/or Razordons.
