As is suggested in the title. Really want to get back into fantasy after a long break but it's so hard to find fantasy players in my area. Most of the players at my closest GW nearly all play 40k to. I know the game mechanics can be a bit clunky and the 40k rules are a lot easier to pick up but fantasy seems to be dying of so bad?

I'm not sure that it is. I moved to Ireland over ten years ago and never got playing then I contacted a guy on an irish forum and am playing every other week, also the more I talk about it, the more people contact me to have a game, i think if you're having trouble finding opponents then a few few posts in forums might help. There is always twitter as well. As much as I like Dakka Dakka it is probably too worldwide for meeting local gamers.

Yeah I suppose searching on other forums would help

Check out the Warhammer forums at Warhammer.org.uk. That seems to be where more of the UK players hide out. There's also loads of WHFB podcasts out of the UK, from Bad Dice to Heelenhammer to Black Sun, many of which seem to have their own forums as well.

Honestly, I think your trouble is that you're expecting to find WHFB gamers playing in GW stores. Most WHFB clubs that I see and hear about online meet elsewhere.

Fantasy's seeing a resurgence in my area.

Anyone tried the Player Finder?

Lots of Fantasy in my area as well. Fantasy is far from dying, but the amount of active players will of course vary by area.

I'm not too sure about my LGS, as I have yet to make it there at my college town, but I just switched from 40k to fantasy. I think the game has more depth, just a bit more strategy imho.
