So I had sort of an idea, because I love Necron cc units. First I play against almost exclusively hard hitting, low model count, cc expert factions. (Mainly Blood Angels and Space Wolves). I've had great success with more traditional Necron armies, focusing on Tesla/Deathmarks and CCB skirmishing (chariots should have hit and run instead of sucky sweep attack gw pls) but I wanted to beat them at their own game. I was thinking about a core of jump infantry (wraiths with whip coils and destroyer lord, followed around by RoC Pratoerians) supported by a CCB and 5 warriors in a Night Scythe.

So the idea is to lock down Termies and Death Company etc with whip coils so the Praetorians can always get a hit in. Overwhelm elite units with high volume rending and low ap attacks. In the meantime the CCB is on anti-armor/anti-shooting duty. Night Scythe for more anti armor/personnel with Warriors for scoring.

If you really want to honor the term "Thunderdome", replace two Whipcoils and your Overlord with the Stormlord and either a Particle Caster on a wraith or a Voidblade on your Destroyer Lord.
