Hey guys, I've gotten a bit over playing my Orkz lately so I decided to move and see what it's like to play a small elite army. And of course I settled for the Ravenwing (they look awesome and have a small model count haha)
I have thrown in some Deathwing, from what I've gathered reading about them they work quite closely with them anyway so fluff win! (Hooray!)

This is what I've come up with so far. C&C Welcome!

This comes in at 1821 points so far..

It's a crazy low model count so it'll take some getting used to but I'm keen to try it out. I've kept all the bike squads at 6 so I can combat squad them to really annoy people and if I come across any flyers (which aren't a common thing at my local) I'm sure alot of rapid firing twin-linked plasma and bolters should do something haha.

The standard bikes will stick with the command squad to benefit from the banner (possibly combat squading if needed) while the knights cruise up on the flanks where they'll hopefully hit any armour or heavy infantry. And the termies can drop anywhere they're needed since everyone has teleport homers and I can choose if I want them turn 1 or 2.

Any advice at all? I know plan works until the first dice is rolled but I feel I've covered most bases in regards to massed infantry, MEQ, heavy, vehicles, etc. (Except flyers obviously).

Your Deathwing component is heavily CC oriented, so it might pay to just swap them out for Deathwing Knights instead. You're only getting single TL stormbolter + TL AC on arrival per squad(assuming they're teleporting in)

Since you decided to go with SoR, it might pay to invest in some flamers instead of plasma guns. With 14 TL plasma talons the plasma guns seem sort of redundant.

You might have some trouble with AV14's. What's your strat against them?

WHOOPS! Yeah that was meant to be a Banner of Devastation haha. Hmm good point on the Deathwings there, and the Knights are a bit cheaper.. could fit more in there. Flamers are good too, since hordes concern me slightly with this list.. with the spare points double up on meltaguns and maybe meltabombs for a hit and run..

You need more bikes in that list. 12 Bolters are cool, but 18 bolters would be better
I'd drop one squad of the knights and the swords on the srgs... Bikes are just as terrible in CC as tacticals are. The only thing you'll do is hide in melee to prevent shooting with them.
Also consider more RWGL... these things are shibby and do a lot of nasty stuff with the plasma talons (insta deathing anything with t4 with plasma/even t5 with melta is neat)

Yeah I was thinking of putting a RWGL in each of the Black Knights Squads, they do seem pretty handy.. I jist don't want to lose plasma shots haha. I dunno, those Black Knights seem to kick a bit more but than the standard attack squadrons from what I've seen in batreps..

Yes they do, and they are at least capable in melee.
Sometimes you'd wish for plasma shots, but changing I3 to I4 and then charging in with Hammer of Wrath and 15 Rending attacks, hitting before the enemy does, is also quite a treat

So I've rewritten the list and this is what I think I've settled on.. I can swap the Melta Bombs from the standard squad to the Knights if required since they already have a couple Meltaguns..

Comes in at 1847 points, so I'm pretty content with it.

It really needs a 3rd 6-man RAS for the dakka banner to do work. At this rate, you're better off with SoF (drop SoD and AC on darkshroud to make room) and going more cc oriented dual wing list.

Being small elite army, you need a method of thinning down horde armies. It's a strong army against MEQ and TEQ's but it'll suffer against armies that use blobs as speed bumps. 48 bolter rolls is just barely enough to down a squad and a half of GEQ.

Just my two cents - the army looks good however. I'll be rethinking my DA list after this.

Yeah I was thinking I might need another bike squad, sacrificing either a Deathwing Knight squad or one of the Black Knights squadrons.. I'm not sure how I feel about having Deathwing in a Ravenwing list, but I feel like those teleport homers are just too good to waste.
