I just play on a 4x4 plank at the moment with the odd pieces of scenery placed around so not worth a photo. I don't have a table in my living room and am currently using a old plastic garden table to place my board onto at the moment Gets the job done and I only play 750 point games but I'll need to think of a way of getting a 6x4 board sorted out soon as both me and my firends are collecting more and more models for our forces.

I hope to put an order in for a gaming mat before Christmas to make things look a little more interesting.

This is what I’ve got at home:

Your basic 4’x8’, battlefield green painted plywood and lumber special.

But most of my games are at the FLGS, or on my friend’s dining room table.

This is what we play on at our FLGS. We use a F.A.T. mat and our terrain is mostly ruins, hills, and trees.

If we have more than one game going, we have some extra pieces of spray painted plywood that we lay over a table to get it up to 6x4. Not pretty, but functional.

We also have a little 4x4 table that is normally used for playing board games, but which we will also use for sub-1000 point 40k games, and for non-40k miniature games (Warmachine, Infinity, X Wing). It's not painted at all, just a brown wooden table - but I don't mind playing on it, you just have to use your imagination.

So many nice tables! Especially love the F.A.T gaming mat. If you don't mind me asking how long did it take for you to get it?

Those last 2 are just perfect 40k tables. Good amount of cover/terrain, very pretty, awesome to play on.

P.S.A. I won't read your posts if you break it into a million separate quotes and make an eyesore of it.

This thread is so full of win. I better stop being lazy and build one myself.

Hi all,

I built my own table. It is 8'x4', as yet unfinished. I plan to finish it in the same style as my basement, with roll out drawers to hold terrain etc... I use 2'x4' MDF boards for a playing surface, it allows for a foot on either end for books, dice, etc.

I recently finished up a set of rural style terrain for my 40k table. Had a game today with a friend of mine. Here it is pre-game.

And here it is mid-game for scale.

I like the idea of having a bigger table than play area. There's so many books etc to keep close at hand.

The room is a bit of mess right now (packing a bunch of stuff) but I have two tables plus my friend brought over a third so we can run three games at at time. I have a Realm of Battle Board that needs to be painted and a Zuzzy Urban Mat on order. Also two Imperial Sectors that need building, a bunch of other terrain as shown in the other pic. Its a work in progress but getting there. The next big step is to build a proper gaming table with storage for the RoB and maybe a Tablescapes someday. Not sure how to rotate the second pic...

Gunzhard that looks ace, I'd never even thought about quickly editing tabletop shots as you've just done.
Even doing a really quick/bad job in Windows Paint as I've just done looks sooo much better and easier to read the table without background distraction.
I'll definitely be taking a bit of time over doing this for battreps from now.
Cheers for the inspiration.

Still painting up my zone mortalis table but it's fallen behind as I have been focusing painting other models at the moment.
