First model in a year and the first of my gang of spyrers.

Just the base to go but I'm going to all of them in one go.

Thoughts?

Great start - how are you planning on doing the bases?

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

I was thinking of a brown rim, with the GW astrogranite on top, dry brushed with necron compound.

Then I was thinking of adding some snow.

Not done winter bases before.

Love the Spyrers. Looking good. What mix of the suits are you using?

Although too much for a gang I've got both Orrus, Malcador and Yeld models to paint.

Looking good so far! I will add to bubber's sentiment - what ideas do you have for the bases?

What is best in life? To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women. Grrr.

Wip on the bases, soon as I work out how to do it I'll be adding patches of snow and then varnishing with testors dull coat before adding gloss varnish to the lenses.

Very nice!

My step-son wants to get into mini-wargaming and I am not sure if he would stick it out enough to be a good investment. Was debating about getting some old and busted models from any source I can and maybe throw together a Necromunda gang and see how he does with that.

But yeah, those look very nice. Keep it up!

Necromunda or Infinity would be a good bet if your looking for a skirmish game with only a few models needed (compaired to 40k).

Agreed, you can have a usable group with only 5ish members. It can be done for pretty cheap and the rules are very usable if you take them step at a time. My son and I play from time to time and its pretty enjoyable.

Ooh. I like those. I haven't played Necromunda so forgive my ignorance, but did you convert the faces?
Either way, great job!

Nice work so far.

Since this appears to be an ongoing thread, I am moving it over to the Blogs section.

Thanks for the move.

Latest model on the table is a Yeld. Started the highlights now and should be moving onto the wing tomorrow, with luck.

Todays offerings, highlights done, not too sure if the turquoise needs another highlight.

Not too happy with the lenses this time, but the model quality wasnt the best.

Painted up some base scenery as I got told my last 2 bases were a bit boring!

Always nice to see more Necromunda! I haven't played with or against the Spyrers, but I like what you've done with them, especially the Orrus you just posted!

A little more today and that's one of the Orrus complete. Went with painted rocks on the base, I like to think these mark out other gangs territories in the way you would mark a mine field out.

An update photo of the gang as well.

Brilliant paint job but would it actually snow within the Underhive?

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

I imagine it would get fairly icey up near the top! Or at least have some toxic ash floating around!
