This is more of a list for fun, but I do want to have it able to win a couple of games. The idea is to have an overwhelming supply of monsters and a lot of small units that emphasize giving up as little as possible in terms of points when attacked or targeted. Wanted to run it by the Dakka audience for general tweaking and tuning.

True, though I think I reflexively put in banners for that one mission where banners matter, I guess the question is that if I drop the banners on the glade guard, what do I do with those 50 points?

Swap them for musicians so your glade guard can swift reform and target behind them.
