Hello to everyone
I decided to bring lives to some characters that I have in mind since years.
With my experience in the last years, I think this is the right moment to sculpt some of them during my free time, so i decided to start with this Berserker: the first one of a larger Berserker womans series.
I'm collaborating with Andrea Tarabella to our miniature project, Artisan Guild Miniatures, so I will post here every sculpt I made for this new miniature line.
We decided to keep the Shapeways shops separated, but both my and his miniatures are designed to works togheter.
I decided to remove most of my old sculpt from my shop, as some of them were too outdated compared to my new works.
As my sculpt is finished, i decided to sell it on my Shapeways shop, so if anyone would like to paint my miniatures, the 3d printing service will print it just for the costumer and ship it in a little time
Enough talk now (: here some images and the link of my shop, where you can easly locate my Berserker sculpt. There's also a 3d preivew inside, the last image of the gallery.
http://www.shapeways.com/shops/fra
I really hope that you like it! All the comments will be much appreciated (:

That is an amazing sculpt but even with frosted ultra detail I don't think the physical print will come out acceptable.

Thanks, I ordered this miniature in Frosted Ultra Detail yesterday, I should receive it day 15th of November. I will post some photos, if the quality is not good compared to the sculpt, I will definitely looks for other solutions

Welcome to Dakka. Bad idea to use your real name and a picture. No one does that here.
I love your sculpt, it's not too sexualized (though I would kill for abs like those) I'm just... trying to understand what the extra mass on her left is. Please, anyone?

Looks like a GW carry all sack that is swinging around with her body. Can't really confirm that as there aren't enough skulls coming out of the bag though.

Hmm, printing in wax and then casting them in resin/plastic/metal might be a solution. I'm very curious to see what the printed FUD model will look like!

Hi, thanks
The extra mass on her left is a leither and fur cloak with some trophies attached.

Yes looking at the quality of your work I do feel it will not be reflected in the print from shapeways, there are much better services available all be it more costly also they would be better cast in resin.
Either way I like your work and can see the similarities between yours and Raging Heroes miniatures, hope this works out for you and I myself am interested to see your range development.

Amazing, simply put.
I'm not so much a fan of the skulls on the cloak. I imagine they would add a lot of weight to the fabric, which may prevent it from flowing quite the way you've sculpted it. Is that really a super-important detail? No, of course not. Maybe she's pushing her way through gale-force winds, or something.
Again, great work.

I'm also not sure about the cloak, it isn't clear how the skulls are attached to the material and the whole garment seems very bulky, but perhaps that's the idea? The proportions and facial detail are good though, and I do like that she looks strong enough to actually swing the weapon she is wielding.

The sculpting is fantastic and the print looks really well executed.
My only critique is that the cape makes the figure a bit too busy in my opinion.

Based on the earlier posts, I'm guessing the Frosted Ultra Detail. But that gets pretty pricey, though.

Looks pretty damn good to me and I like the cloak , some great detail there and the print looks nice and clean.
Who did you use in the end as that ain't Shapeways, not unless they have drastically changed there printing quality.

All the little columns coming up from the base - these are the struts/supports of a 3d printed object, yes? When you order one of these do you have to cut all those away yourself?

The cape really kills the model in my opinion. You can't really tell what it is, and the thickness and movement are off.
That being said, you've clearly got the right skills to produce some awesome miniatures, so I look forward to seeing more.

Awesome looking model but the cape is throwing me off a bit too. It just looks a bit strange. Overall a love it though. The print looks pretty good, though I can see some detail has been lost on her face, in your original design she looks much more aggressive but in the print the eye is drawn to the mouth too much which is a bit odd because it lacks the crags which give your original design the more aggressive look.

I'm not feeling the cloak, the sculpt has some beautiful detail but it looks like she is trying t hit her own cloak with the club. I think is due to all the objects that are present as detail on the cloak. The skills you have are fabulously amazing though

Thanks for all the feedbacks!
If you think the cloak is confusing, I could try something more linear but i like the fact that she is a barbarian and her cloak is made of different pelts-leather, as well she placed some trophies on it.
The last pictures are a print by Stephan ( http://www.3dxs.de/), but i will publish some photos by Shapeways when i'll receive it.
Shapeways models are cleaned: no support materials or anything like that... evereything is included in their price

I like the earlier cast as well, the shapeways cast looks a bit grainy...
And yes, I have to agree about the cloak.
Would love to see a continuing range on your models though, top notch!

Nice sculpt but ditch Shapeways as they are way to grainy and ruining the detail, cast up the other 3d print in resin and sell them it would benefit your sales as the Shapeways version I would not buy.

For some reasons pictures (that show models 5 times bigger or even more) looks too much busy and noisy compared to the miniature seen by human eyes. In my opinion the miniature looks no different in my hand compared to the casted one. Honestly the black paint I have applied on it have covered some details :( As many of you had issues with the barbarian cloak, full of bones, battle trophies and made of different leather parts, I'm publishing another version of this miniature on Shapeways with a different cloak, hope you like it!
