Subject: TGJ Hobbies Thread - Kickstarter is over. FUNDED
We are constantly updating the product and the rewards so keep an eye on it.
We launched our product at ReaperCon with the amazing help from Reaper Miniatures. We were able top provide some custom racks used at ReaperCon for some of the instructors and some contest give away's. The feedback on them has been amazing.
Please take a look and hopefully you'll want to help support our growing venture! Thank you so much!

so this is our store:
its a modular system. its also expandable. so it'll hold citadel and Vallejo and most every other brand of paint. Our system is fully expandable, uses no tools or fasteners. Glue is not required (though recommended).
You can select which size paint units you'd like to carry in the order and we will happily oblige. The system uses 4 paint shelves, of which 3 are used to hold paint, the fourth is inverted for the first row to sit on. This mean the 4th unit can be ordered to any brand size you would like so it can be changed out later (assuming you do not glue it)
The rack has multiple holes for various tools and paint brushes as well as two large holes for clean water or beverages.
The top can have an etched logo added of your choice for a small fee.
I need to work on getting our video on how to use it up.
shoot me a PM if you have any other questions.

Hey gang, thanks for all the support!
I was a DCM for Dakka for a couple years (probably will re-up shortly) and Dakka has given me lots of inspiration and joy reading articles, how to's and viewing the gallery. A large part of this, is by you, the members!
As Our way of saying thanks, use the code DAKKADAKKA when you visit our store, and you'll get a 10% off discount for everything you buy. As long as Dakka is up and running, our code stands!
New Items are being added, and as always, I thank you for your time, suggestions, and comments.
Wow man this is great, I would invest but I don't paint enough or have enough supplies.

Brennonjw wrote: I might actualy get one when I get payed, How well do these fit GW paints?
Hi Brennon! They fit GW paints quite well. Due of the tapered design of the Citadel bottle, the hole has to accommodate the bottom more than the top. There is a small amount of wiggle once its in the paint rack, but If I turn the rack on its side, they won't fall out. There are Citadel paints in the third photo if you look closely.

Rimmy-
These look amazing.
Can you list dimensions please? Basic Rack system and Corner System.
I just reorganized my workshop and these were pretty much exactly what I was looking for, but couldn't find.
Also, what are shipping costs?
Thanks!

The corner piece is right around the same. (uses the same side plates)
Right now I have the shipping at a flat $10 rate, but I'm working on getting that cheaper. I jsut shipped out an order for 3 paint racks and two corner pieces, cost me $25. Flat rate game box from USPS. so it can be done. I'm going to adjust the prices for shipping as soon as I figure out how.
Check out the marketplace and it should give you a cost with taxes and everything (gotta pay the devil his due)
Always here for answers if needed.

I'm going to move this over to News/Rumors for a bit--it's something new and will increase some exposure in place of the Swap Shop. I can move it back after awhile if you like.

Very nice, glad to see as US company getting in on the game.
I'd also recommend that you update your profile page and put your business link in your signature. That way we don't have to jump back to the first post in the thread and it'll he'll get your name out there.

Looks very nice. Glad to see I don't have to get something shipped from across the pond. You might consider some larger bundle sort of deal with some sort of discount to give an incentive to get the whole setup in one go.
You might also consider an option where the top rack is all just paints as well. I'm less interested in spaces for water, tools, etc., and would prefer just all paints.

I am actually working to make a dakka discount code with the mods permission.
I am in the process of creating bundles, as well as adding new designs hopefully by Friday.
I totally understand the desire for more paint, and I'm looking at adding a smaller side extension piece. The tops however, are higher than the paint shelves. This was actually to accommodate the cups and less the tooling. It is sadly too tall for more paint holes to fit properly.
I might come out with a taller one in the future. One of my earliest paint racks for my personal use holds 80 dropper bottles. And yes, I have that much paint. (A blessing and a curse really)
Ultimately that was too large and wouldn't mix well when adding other styles if paint bottles. It became to unwieldy and bulky for a table.
Needless to say, we have spent a considerable amount of time with many many configurations, this was the happiest medium.
I do have other styles in the works. This is merely the first, but by far not the least.
We started this little venture by creating products what we as gamers and painters wanted, but could not buy.
Now, I am very happy to share what we have done so far, and stand proudly next to our creation.
I'm working on some videos for them a well.
Thank you for the support and comments!

If you do I'll definitely buy something from you. Looks fantastic though!
I personally will ship anywhere, it's just the cost. I can tell you I will do my absolute best to find the lowest cost possible.
Pm me and let's talk. I wanna spread the love here! (Maybe wait for the coupon code though, there is one coming)

In contrast to the earlier request for a larger one, are you thinking about maybe a smaller (thinner) one? My paint station real estate is at a premium and I know I could more easily find room for a 6" deep staton, rather than a 12" deep one. It looks like it may just involve new side cutouts (or I guess some DIY surgery on the sides on my end).

Hi mcrobot! We don't have a smaller one in the works, but we are working on a vertical arrangement that might suit your fancy better.

Lord Solaar wrote: So great to finally see someone in the US making paint racks! Any plans for acrylic versions?
Hi Lord solaar!
I have made one acrylic piece before. It's 1/8" thick and flimsy and just terrible. It needs to be no less that 1/4# thick to pass muster.
Right now, it is prohibitively expensive to do so. The raw material alone is ten times the cost (not a typo, 10!!!)
I have no plans to carry acrylic, but I can make them special order.
And since we are on topic, I'm not using mdf either. It's brittle, heavy and looks blah. Ours is maple finished ply, or oak. Sturdy stuff that looks great, can be painted it stained easily and is cost effective enough to keep our price low.
I had 3 criteria: it must be easy, it must be cheap, and it must work well. Compared to other things available, I firmly believe I have done that.

The price. Point drove a large portion of my design. I had a dollar amount in my head, based on what I personally would spend on something like this. It was important to me, that I hit that mark.
A hobby station or paint rack should not be priced to where you have to debate it a few days. It serves a functional purpose, so it needs to say "yea that's worth it".
A review of our system from an independent source should be coming soon.

Got an order of these racks in recently, Great stuff! Looks really neat and assembles well. Seems pretty sturdy too, deffinitely more than enough to hold paint and paintbrushes! Deffinitely helps keep my workspace tidy and organized. My only criticism is the large holes on the top of the rack don't actually have a shelf underneath so only my large water cups fit in, not a big deal though!
Great work, love supporting a small business and shipped to Canada, will buy from again!
