I was just wondering if I could use apocalypse formations from apocalypse books in normal legal games. Any help would be much appreciated.

you could and call it unbound.
if by "legal" you mean tourney stuff you have to ask your organizer.
What formation would you want to use?
I use the rules for the sonic marines for a regular sonic marine force but other than that i havent found the need for them.

Well I have a sizable SM collection and want to do the company formation and/or the damnos formation of 3-5 vindicators. I saw these on 1d4chan and they say apocalypse beside them so I dont know if that means only for apocalypse or what.

well i mean you can take those as unbound anyways in a regular game.
Our group couldn't not care... but some people freak out if you use the work apocalypse.
I font play tourneys but i know most of them ban anything apoc related.
But at the point levels you would be using those i dont see why anyone would care.

Apocalypse Formations are for Apocalypse games. Now can you use them in a non-Apocalypse game? As long as your opponent is OK with it. However, you may find a bulk of the Formation special rules to be useless as they refer to Apocalypse only things, and at that point it is more just fielding the models and "calling" it the Formation.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I had the same question.
I can find nothing in the rules restricting which formations you can bring.
A battle forged list can include any number of formations as formations are themselves detachments.

If brute force doesn't do it, you're not using enough. |
