Just had a game against my regular foe, and yet again the Lizards were found wanting against effing DEs.

My only decent unit against them is Chameleon Skinks. They took out two mounted chaff units.

My OB on Carno got brutalised without getting a hit in, then his WEs romped in to my Ancient Steg and murdered it, and they THEN ran in to my Saurus block and took out about 13 of them. I got one WE. I called it there.

Sheesh.

Did I mention they were all flank charges, and he was strength 8?! Tons of poison attacks too.

However, it was all down to a bit of bad positioning and an unlucky charge roll on my part. My mate reckons I was on course for my first win until then.

Fun game though. I went with with 3 lvl 2 Mages, 2 heavens and 1 beasts. My rippers did a bolt thrower, chams were awesome. I always get Comet, but never get around to casting it. Any tips about best use?!

Thus concludes my last warm up game before a doubles tournament in Novemeber...

well, how much is the saurus' "always charge unless near skink character" rule treating you?
Also, a block or 2 of skinks or skink skirmishers to counter chaff seems like a good investement, or maybe the riperdactyl riders just so you could hold them down for a turn while your saurus catch up.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.
