Exciting news! For only the Sixteenth (or seventeenth? eighteenth?) time in history GW will soon unleash a...

ZZZ...

Sorry nodded off for a second there

a codex entirely about SPACE MARINES!

In this case, RED ONES!

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/618311.page

So I suppose it is now time for our semi-regular series of completely false and made up rumors!

1 - The codex will not only cover Red Space Marines, but also Crimson Space Marines, Scarlet Space Marines, Rosette Space Marines and the ultra rare Maroon Space Space Marines making this one of the most flexible codexes ever!

2 - Rumors that BAs will be able to take Necrons as troops are false, however a formation in the book will allow you the unit Blood Angels, Space Wolves, Salamanders and Necrons together for a Monster Mash of Vampire/Werewolf/Creature from the Black Lagoon/Mummy goodness!

3 - Unlike Blue Space Marines, Red Space Marine squads have nine marines!!!!!

4 - In order to make them easier to trademark, the Death Company are now known as Super Black Red X Marines.

5 - BAs no longer use Rhinos, instead they have Warthogs, a new armored vehicle with the same stats as Rhinos but half an inch longer. You will of course be required to replace all your rhinos with Warthog kits which are US$65 ($783 Australia).

6 - A new formation of Blood Angles led by Company Captain Pythagoras are the masters of siege warfare using their acute knowledge of ballistics to rain the right amount of ordinance on even the most obtuse foes... oh wait already did that one.

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/440323.page

7 - Blood Angels are no longer Red but actually Blue, it's just they move so fast they appear red to the untrained observer. This is why they follow the Ultramarine codex in so many ways.

8 - Blood Angels are finally out of the closet. As if the gold armor and drinking each other's fluids didn't tip you off ages ago.

I heard that when they "kill" enemy models they suck the blood from them and gain their power. Has this been verified?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

The Blood Angels determine/decide that red is *so* last century and thus change the coloration of their power armor to a new hue, determining that a mauve shade is in this season.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Due to the popularity of the Flash TV show, and a partnership with Warner Bros and DC, the Blood Angels Logo is now a Yellow Lightning Bold over a white circle. All Blood Angels now move 12", jump pack troops 24". All this extra movement burns a lot of calories, so Blood Angels will not pursue enemies fleeing after losing an assault, instead remaining there to consume the dead.

The codex will, after years of pointless delay, officially be called Codex: Blood Angles.

There will be a new vehicle, a hearse with wing details.
Blood Angels will get a new drop pod that is a coffin.
Mephiston will get a new model with 90% more 80s to it.

They have also changed all the photos to pictures of blood, and have altered the font colour to red. The pages are also red.

There is going to be a section called "How to paint Blood Angels", which has the following steps:
1. Assemble miniatures to be painted.
2. Visit local slaughterhouse, obtain one gallon of fresh pig's blood.
3. Dip models into blood.
4. Highlight

Don't be a fething barbarian.

You obviously have to use a child's blood so the painting looks good. Those highlights need the sweet innocence so they really pop.

Fast Jump Dreadnoughts with dual blood fists with built-in blood-throwers. May take (Blood) Red Paint Job for 5 pts, which gives +1" on Run moves.

Sanguinius' daughter will appear for the first time as a special character. The lore will cover how she's led the special ninja clan the Blood Angels have since the time of the heresy. These blood ninjas will also be represented as a unit that becomes available if you take Sanguinius' daughter as your warlord.

Bloodninja
WS 6 BS 6 S 5 T 4 W 2 I 6 A 3 Ld 10 Sv 3++
Bloodknives: Count as two powerswords, reroll 1s to hit, for every successful wound caused by an attack by this weapon an additional attack can be made, ignores armour saves, ignores invulnerable saves, ignores cover saves. Can also be used as a ranged weapon with the following profile:
Range 12" S 5 AP - Assault 2
Bloodninjaarmour: Gives a 3+ Invulnerable save and the Eldar Titan Hollofield Rule (See Escalation).
Bloodshoes: Can move up to 18" during the movement phase.

I’ve heard a contradictory rumor on this one. As everyone knows, the non-blue marines have everything the blue marines do, plus something extra. So the Red marine squads go to eleven. It’s one more powerful then ten!

1. All vehicles with the "Blood" prefix will be 0-3 and fast (even the ones in Heavy Support as well as any vehicles that wouldn't actually benefit from fast)

2. All vehicles will have the "Blood" prefix

3. New addition to the allies chart. It will be called "Blood Brothers" and consist of BA, 'Crons, SW and Tyranids ('nids because reasons)

4. All models will have "Preferred enemy: Adeptus Mechanicus" and "Hatred: Inquisition"

5. As a result of #4, Techmarines will now randomly deal damage to themselves each turn. This represents the Techmarines inner turmoil/guilt at keeping STCs away from Mars.

5. Much like Tycho, Mephiston will now come in two forms: "basic" and "LoW". The LoW version will be the size of the new Nagash model but have worse stats than the basic version. It will also be mandatory in all games above 1500pts.

6. There will be 7 rumors but also some poor proof reading re: the numbering of said rumors.

The Red Marines squad will have a super special awesome new upgrade called the "Sanguinary Sergeant Upgrade". This exciting new upgrade transforms a humble Space Marine sergeant into an avatar of Sanguinius's wrath! He gains an extra attack to represent his unbridled fury and an additional leadership point to represent his centuries of experience. You can represent the awe inspiring countenance of this model using parts from the Citadel Death Company box to upgrade your Sergeant! Only $35!

The Red Marines Assault Squad will not longer be called an Assault Squad since clearly they aren't the same as a Blue Marines Assault Squad since they can take Meltaguns. Meltaguns are the signature weapon of the Red Marines! Instead, they will be called a Bloodtalon Rapid Assault Squad and be given the Fear special rule. That makes a difference, right?

The Red Marines vehicles no longer have fast.

The Red Marines vehicles now have a rule called "Speed of Sanguinius". This rule confers the Fast USR. Yes, it would've been easier just to list "Fast" as the Special Rule but then the Red Marines just wouldn't be so special if they had a boring old rule from the book.
