Wonderful paint scheme and nice use of thin paint!

Although I have only just posted here, I did receive some feedback on a traditional games forum.

They said I needed to better highlight the colours. So here is a more up to date image. Let me know if the highlights are better and if anything needs to change!
Do note, none of them are finished! I want your help with getting along!

Sorry for the lighting differences, the weather is strange in the UK...

And the aspiring champion...

Thoughts?

Thankyou! I'm never sure of how thin/thick to make my paints.

I'm glad you like the scheme! I'm a little worried it's a bit 'too much' yknow?

Wow, thankyou very much. What do you think about the scheme/idea?

Did you read the back-story at all? Would love some feedback!

Thanks again.

This is a completely experimental model.
It's not a great conversion and needs a lot cleaning up.
What do you think? I think it works considering they're vain and want to stand out from their colleagues.
Also looks quite bug-like in a way.

Thoughts? It obviously wouldn't fit into vehicles, but then Blackthorns don't really use them often...

It is good fluff, I wonder, do they follow Malal/Malice?

Cool scheme. Are you going to base them?

The back story seems to lend itself to Malal

Thanks. I am going to base them eventually! I was thinking of going for snow as it would be very high contrast to the dark reds and blacks, but I'm still thinking about it.
I'm glad you guys like the fluff! I see no reason why Malice wouldnt be popular considering the nature of the warband, I actually had not considered!

Any suggestions you guys would have?

Thanks!

Also, I've been trying wet-blending and skin for the first time on my helbrute, any feedback on that would be great!

In spite of the view counter, I've not had much feedback yet, but I've decided to slowly move on in what little free time I've had!

I cleaned up some of the colours, worked over some of the highlights. I also added the eyes and finished the bone of the horns for now.
Please please please tell me what needs improvement, what works and what you you think of my fluff! Thankyou!

Also, I'm hearing if I got a job tomorrow, so wish me luck!!

Looking good. One thing I'd suggest is finding a way to give the black some depth, dry brushing with a bluish grey or painting it black grey and washing with nuln oil.

Another thing you usually get a lot of views but not a lot of comments. My blog has 81 responses and 3k views

Thankyou for the advice, I will definitely give that a shot! I'd not gotten around to the black yet, but with the highlighting I attempted on the gold helmet, I thought it was a bit too... comicbook/cartoony so I've been a bit worried about the blacks.
Ill give those a go on my test models!

Yeah I want to hear more feedback like that, but I'm glad it's not just me that doesn't hear back much aha!

Thanks again sir!

Any advice from you guys about how to highlight gold? I'm just not happy with it, and white for where the light shines looks tacky.

Thanks again!

Here is an example of my black grey I did on the commissar's cloak. I did a bit of eshin grey with abbadon black

Also for gold, I did something like this. Mind you this is one of my first models and isn't that good

I have to say, The black robe on that first photo looks really wonderful, it really adds to your explanation!
It makes the difference between 'This is meant to be black' and 'this has not been painted' if you understand my meaning.
I really appreciate it.

I can't see very well on the gold photo I'm afraid, but I am heavily medicated at the moment. They're both nice models though.

Thanks again for that, I appreciate it a lot!
