The way I understand it:

1) Fireteam Zero already had a Kickstarter
2) Has NOT been delivered to backers yet
3) Meanwhile they partnered up with a big name company in Europe
4) New KS is for a French language version of the game
5) Original backers will get newly unlocked stretch goals

Related to this, is there any mini like this one currently on the market, that is mostly just "maw"?

I've been looking for one that could fit nicely on a 40mm base, but no luck so far. I may pledge just for the "monster pack" that includes this one, but if that's a 25mm rather than a 40mm base in the render, it may be too small.

Pretty clear on their KS page...

Basically they're funding a French language version, but you can get the English version too.

I had the same thought, and it was a little unclear on the KS page. It seems to smack a bit of Kickstarter addiction. They are selling English language printings in order to fund a French language printing. What happens if most of the pledges are for English language printings? Will they not be able to afford a French language printing? If they could afford a French language printing without a large production run, why do they need a new kick starter to fund it? If they were able to raise more than $100,000 to produce English language versions of the product, why can't they get traditional funding to do a French language reprinting?

And is this kick starter also including new expansion content, or does it only have content that was part of the second kickstarter?

They haven't delivered because they haven't finished the game yet.

Basically this campaign was to get some extra funds for a french edition, since they partnered up with their current distributor or whatever the relation is. Since the game is still in an early phases of development, they're just using this as an opportunity to let new backers on board.

I had to back out of the original campaign, but this game has really grown a lot in terms of production values since they first tried to launch it.

I was in the original KS that was canceled but I passed on the one in May that was funded. This KS doesn't give me warm and fuzzys if they are still in early development and the previous KS was due in October. The new campaign has may 2015 as a ship date too...

The game looks terrific compared to what it was though. If it hits retail I'll grab a copy.

It does look cool, and I'll watch for at retail, but I agree - they're still just showing renders of the minis

and having passed the due date of their previous campaign, that's not a good sign. Drake the dragon game comparisons come to mind - although I certainly hope this one will deliver, I can't back a second campaign based on renders before they deliver on the first.

Well, not surprising since they have $100,000.00 in their pockets. I don't mean this to be facetious, either. When you have money to spend you can pay for things like artwork, product design, Kickstarter consulting, etc.

Those are quite nice. However, I don't see anything saying what the prototypes actually are... are these casts? Not 3D prints?

Also a little concerning that they showed that in October, when they were supposed to deliver everything, and this campaign is listed for a delivery in May... but still, they look impressive and have me at least keeping an eye on this again.

In regards to shipping of the KS, this is from one of the creators:

@Ernster: There is no shipping charged for addresses inside the US. For everywhere else there is one charge, so when you click on a pledge, all countries except the US should show that one

Also, we are shipping to the EU from France, so EU backers will not pay any import taxes or VAT

For shipping outside of the EU, regular taxes and duties will apply.

Of course it has. They took $100,000.00 of backers' money and haven't delivered anything yet. Now they are doing a second kickstarter for the same product on the excuse of making a French language edition. If the production value had not increased it would have been an even bigger red flag.

Give me $100K and I can give you a great spread of artwork. Maybe the increase in production value is why the project hasn't yet delivered, and why a new campaign is needed to raise extra funds for production...

Kickstarter has a new shipping UI, which allows us to show shipping to specific countries. That's good, but the downside is that it's a long list, so they don't show it until you click the Pledge. It's okay to click to check the shipping, you won't pledge until you click through another step.

However, to save you some clicking here are the shipping costs for each pledge. Note that shipping inside the US is free, and all international shipping is the same price as listed below (meaning the country doesn't matter):

* Recruit and Recruit Plus: $15 USD
* Heavy Assault: $20 USD
* Heavy Assault Plus: $25 USD
* War Chest: $35 USD (it's...big)
* Big Box of Minis: $20
* Game Store 4-Pack: $80 USD (note that this is the only pledge where US shipping is charged)

The war chest pledge is unbelievable deal with all the SG's included from the English KS.

The risk for this KS is so high and I'm shocked that they were able to get this much so far. This KS is for a French edition of the game and none of the updates have French translations?
