Subject: What is the best war gaming food and drink?
Hey everyone,
I just had a apocalypse game of 40k which 4 of us were round my house for a big game. The game went on for 2 days. Obviously we ate a LOT of food during the weekend so I'm asking-
What is the best food for 40k?
Thanks.

Avoid Doritos/Cheetos - unless your models already have an orange color scheme. Basically avoid anything that leaves a residue/liquid/juice on your fingers.
Sodas and veg with dip (kept away from game table) are good, with maybe some finger meats/cheese (cubed ham - drained/dried well with a towel).

You can make them super tasty, AND you can eat them without getting any residue on your fingers. Plus, because they're one or two bites at most, you don't have to put them down during your move or risk spilling the filling!

Halkidik olives with lemon juice
Manchego cheese with chilli flakes
Feta and spinach pastries
Mini Lamb Kofta skewers with Tzatziki dip
Salt and cracked black pepper kettlechips with garlic and onion dip.
Drinks usually centre around ale (usually British), cider/perry (the local speciality as I live in the heart of the UKs brewing land) and Belgian biers.

We just go out to eat when people get hungry. I don't really understand the urge to snack constantly while engaged in gaming. At most, we have a few bottles of water or cans of soft drinks during games.

When your mates travel over to your house, which isn't in a big town, it's good to provide refreshments for them. It means you can settle down to a decent-sized game and not worry about having to leave it for a couple of hours to drive to somewhere with a restaurant.
Depends where you live really

Do not kill. Do not rape. Do not steal. These are principles which every man of every faith can embrace.
For if you do, one day you will look behind you and you will see us And on that day, you will reap it,
and we will send you to whatever god you wish.

Bison burger patty cooked in bacon grease while wrapped in bacon with a nice layer of cheese - of your choice - stuck between the bacon and burger patty. slap it onto a pair of warm toasty buns and your good to go.
You'll definitely have to take a break from the game and wash your hands but it's quite worth it.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

In our Apoc games, there is a coffee flat.
Soft drinks and cookies are included in the fee paid for the battle:
15 € for a shorter game til 4 pm. Otherwise 20 €.

In our old men gaming group (age 25-35) we usually drink beer (well, we're Germans) and eat fast food, preferably pizza. If we feel extra comfy we enjoy some Whisky during the games - ideal to sip during watching the others' turn.
