Defending Guardian Defender

Greetings, when i fully magnetised and painted my recently bought Leman Russ, i was thinking of aquiring a Inquisition detachment for my Imperial Guards army, so now i ask:

1. Of the types of Inquisitors, what are their strengths and weaknesses, and their roles, i figure Ordo Xenos is more close combat oriented, wich i think is fun but how do you play him then? I have seen some tactics featurin a nifty Inquisitional chimera with Crusaders suck up wounds and Death cult assasins to deal dammage, plus an Xenos with all kinds of grenades. One problem i see with this is that the chimera is no assault vehicle. The chimera is also used in one of the more shooty builds, a Chimera with an Malleus, possibly with terminator armour and psycannon, along with a few bolter acolytes and a Weapon monkey(Jokaero) to boost their shooting, as five models can shoot out of the Chimera. Ordo Hereticus seems to situational to be of large use, although i have a friend who play Grey Knights.
2. What of Acolyte models? I originaly planned to use a catachan command squad armed with bolters to create sort of a "rag-tag-mercenary" feeling, but then i ran into the problem with armour, the catachans abs may grant them the 5+ but it can hardy justify a 4+ or even a 3+. What do you recommend to use as not only Acolytes but maybe other revelant models as well?

Well, i think that was it.

Eagerly awaiting answers.
/Tobias
