So starting my dwarfs back up. So just looking for some xomments on advice on the list to optimize it a bit. Dont generally know what ill be up against so an all comers will be nice to have. And feel that i got it done fairly well. Just not 100% sure.

Hi, welcome back to Dwarfs.

For the points level, it looks like you have a pretty solid list going on!

You could safely strip out the unit of 10 warriors in core (thus getting you perfectly to minimum, if you're as amused by that sort of stuff as I am) and put some runes on the Hammerer's banner.
I'm partial to giving them Valaya for the boost to magic defense, but they're also good with a few runes of slowness to help get the charge off. Spare points could go to giving your warmachines runes of flames, because at the moment you can't strip regen at all.

It does. So dropped that 10 man unit. Put in valaya for the hammerers and then burning on both and still got 18 pts left over and not sure what other runes will combo nice on any of then lol.

A single rune of warding, to give your Runesmith a 6+ ward save?
Better than nothing, and there isn't much else to spend the points on.

Another option could be, since I'm assuming your Thane and Runesmith are going into the Hammerer's unit, you could drop 2 hammerers and free up 28 points and keep a nice looking block of 30 total models. Now you have 46 spare points and with 40 of those points, you could tool up the Organ gun even further with Rune of Penetration for sweet, sweet S6. 5 points could then go to a Rune of Stone on the Runesmith.

Not sure if there's any way to get rid of that last 1 point, though... :(

A few things:

Runesmiths seem to do best with a shield and a Rune of stone. 2pts more than the great weapon, and a 2+/6+ in combat. Which isn't bad at all, on your otherwise rather squishy General.

Dwarf Warriors don't do well with shields. They really need great weapons to do much of anything.
Quarrelers love great weapons, too.

Do NOT put Burning on both your war machines; 2+ Wards versus Flaming are just as common as Regeneration. Put it on the Cannon; things that are afraid of cannons have Regeneration more often than things that are afraid of Organ Guns.
Penetration is also way too many points for what it does.

A Rune on those Hammerers would indeed be nice. Slowness X2 and Valaya are both good choices. Even one Rune of Slowness would be cool.
But. None of that is really necessary.

Gyrocopters are just tops. I'd recommend at least one in every list under 2000pts, and 2+ beyond that.

I'd do something like this:

1 Thane + great weapon + battle standard + Oath Stone+ Master Rune of Grungi (181)

1 Runesmith + shield + Rune of Stone + Rune of Spellbreaking X2 (113)

22 Dwarf Warriors + great weapons + musician + standard (240)
15 Dwarf Quarrelers + great weapons (210)

1 Cannon + Rune of Forging + Rune of Burning (150)
25 Hammerers + musician + standard (380)
1 Gyrocopter (80)

1 Organ Gun + Rune of Accuracy (145)

Thanks for that info. I actually ran this list in a 2v2 situation and managed to only lose a few longbeards. Up against wood elves and skaven luckly my partner happend to be a dearf player with almost same list. Instead of warmachines he had gyros which stoped the giant horde of horse riding archers from destroying our units. Overall enjoyed the list and will be expanding into a couple gyros and a grudge thrower just to have variety and not spam machines

I'll cast a vote in favor of shield with rune of stone instead of a great weapon for the rune smith. I'd rather keep all his "extras" in play (mr, spellbreakers, armor piercing, channel) than equivalent of one hammerers worth of offense.

I'm also a fan of gyros, since I think they're effective, but more importantly, fun. Maybe when you expand?

Big fan of Groth, though I think this is about as small an army as could take advantage of it. If not for the crossbows (and maybe heroes going rogue I guess?) it would be cheaper to take stoicism on the long beards.

If you dropped Groth and took up Stoicism, you could get another Quarreler, give them all great weapons, and then have a few points left over (though I'd drop a few Hammerers/Longbeards to get their numbers up to 15).

Good idea on your plans for expansion, though! 'Copters are great. Amazing, even. And they let you participate in the game in different ways.
Grudge Throwers are the ultimate all-comer war machines. Long range, Indirect Fire, a template, and a high-S hit with Multiple Wounds, all on one war machine?
...though the only Rune I see worth taking on it is Accuracy.
