Borka, Vengeance of the Rimeshaws.

I'm thinking he'll be a fun list to bring, but I'm not sure what exactly to bring with him. Axers, Rok,
and a Bouncer seem like they're givens, but what's the screen? Fennblades for their speed
and Reach? Kriel Warriors for their ARM and extra durability? Tuffalos because Tuffalos?

And I seem to be putting Mulg into a lot of different lists lately, so I'm trying to make do without. Is
that a mistake?

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

He can actually run the Mountain King pretty well because his feat can give it what it needs, the ability to survive charging heavies. And if the Mountain King survives the charge it can start killing stuff(and eat all the whelps which popped out to heal)

He is still vulnerable to charging infantry as they can still get all their damage in before the feat makes them stationary. Don't drop the Mountain King into Menoth though, they can negate the Feat stationary with the Covenant.

I'm wondering if Braylen and the highwaymen have any game
here, given Camouflage, the need for a screen, and the need
for attack volume and spot removal.

Resurrecting this thread just because Bear Borka is my favorite Troll Warlock...

Played in a 50 pt. Exigence Release event last weekend. My main list:

eBorka
3x Axers
Rok
Full Fenblades + UA
Kreil Stones + UA
Fell Caller Hero
Janessa Stonetide
Runeshapers
Maximus

Not an "optimized" list at all- I included Maximus as I just picked him up. Yes, that is three Axer light warbeasts.

The Fenblades and Fell Caller with Janessa was basically a jam unit. Run them up, and just tar pit, jam, whatever advance units my opponent had. They worked very well, and they had the speed to keep up with the rest of the army. The real work horses of this list are the Axers. Under Battlecharged, counter attack is the best thing ever. So many times my opponent would move a warbeast up or a solo and forget I had counter charge up. During the activation of the Axers, if they hadn't counter charged, I charged and threshed. I'd max out their furry. I didn't really care if they Frenzied next turn or not, and that is where Rok came in with his animus. +2 Str and MAT on an Axer suddenly makes it a very good light warbeast.

This was my first time really using Runeshapers, and I can really see why they are a good unit.

I just got the Highwaymen, so not sure how good they will be with eBorka. I've thought about using Warders, but they really are too slow. One of the things about my above list is how fast it is- it can be very surprising to an unprepared opponent. I've used Champions before, but find the lack of bodies to be an issue for a jam unit. A full unit of Kriel Warriors backed up with a Fell Caller Hero is a good unit here as well.

Side note- Maximus has Abomination, and I thought I could play around it... but not really. LOL 3" is a lot longer/bigger then you think, and more than once my Fenblades had to make a CMD check.

Abominations can be worked around, or you No Quarter a turn when it matters, lol.

I went with two Axers, a Bouncer, Rok.

Brun and Lug.

Highwaymen.

Fell Caller, Stone, Lanissa Ryssyl.

Got owned because it turns out that Cassius has Stranglehold.

Yeah, that guy is one of those Warlocks that everyone looked at and said "meh". Then people played him, and it was a whole different opinion. I think it's the Gallows Grove that really ups his game. Those place effects, along with the shifting stones, means no counter charge against them. Why Brun and Lug? Where you running them with Lanissa Ryssyl as a self contained package to take care of threats? Can't help but think that maybe 11 points was a bit steep for that.

Got a game in against eVayl.

Brun and Lug gave me some nice flexibility fury-wise. Vayl was
sitting pretty on her upkeeps and animi, so she wasn't in any
hurry to burn mine away.

I mis-used Battle Charged (meaning I didn't use it when I
probably should have), and I was afraid of krielstone sniping,
so I didn't use Shield guard when I could have.

What saved me was an opponent not playing for scenario. I
had enough tools to clear the enemy zone and dominate for
two turns and then Rok was still alive (after Lug cleared
Rok for the charge) to destroy the enemy objective.
