So, I'm thinking of selling off some of my 40k armies to get more money and make room for other stuff.
I play Tyranids, IG, and Eldar. Another army I'm absolutely selling is my WHFB elves, but my thread died instantly.

My experiences with the different armies:
Tyranids- I have a competitive list with 2 Flyrants, but my opponent calls me a WAAC when I use them against his GK PaladinStar/NDK. In addition, 50% or so of the people who play at my FLGS play nids, so I can use my nids in epic Apoc games. However, I really can't build them any more because the good units are prohibitively expensive. ($53 for a Flyrant). My win rate is about 40%.

IG- I never win games with them, and I do not like the Cadian models. I am trying to sell all of my plastic infantry to replace with metal Steel Legion. I can probably get $150 for my plastic infantry and surplus tanks. My win rate is sub-20%.

Eldar- I win almost all of my games with them, but they are poorly painted and the skimmers have broken flying bases. They were my first army and because I didn't know anything about the game when I started, I bought sub-par units like Howling Banshees, Guardians, and Striking Scorpions. My current list has won 100% of it's games, but makes people call me a WAAC TFG whenever I run it.

I'm with the money I'm thinking of starting Necrons (Wraithwing, Bakery, or Funcrons) or Space Marines (I don't know any power lists, though.)

Can you guys help me decide what to sell and what I should start/not start with the money? I am a powergamer who will not buy subpar units.

I would look for trades first if your intent is to just put the money back into more minis.

Maybe its time to try a new game as well?

Start one 40k army and paint it up all nice with lots of conversions and whatever you please. Keep the points reasonable.

Then with whats left try a starter set for a new game. Better to have 2 games to play than 2 variations of the same game. In my opinion.

Didn't you just complain, in your "GW stores are awesome" thread, that the non-GW stores in your area are full of people playing games that aren't 40k?

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Simple Green is in the Cleaning supplies section of almost every major hardware store.

Now you may not want to strip stuff, but simple green is easy to aquire in the states.

Yes. However, I have no interest in those games, and they are played in stores I have no interest in going to.

See a pattern here?

I give everyone I play a copy of my list to tailor to whenever I play them. It's not a "I'm WAAC" problem, it's a "people hate losing" problem. Example, my opponent used to play gunline Tau with a Riptide and 2 table-corner Hammerheads, so I got a Mawloc and 2 Flyrants. Cue him saying he didn't have fun playing against them and he didn't want to play against them.
If people cannot destroy the list that I let them tailor to, It is a problem of player ability. To be a WAAC is to cheat, and I do not cheat.

My god that pink in quote replies are awful.

Weren't you warned against doing that in another thread?

Just take the extra minute and learn how to use the quote tags.

Fix'd. Sorry about that, it's annoying to split up quotes on mobile, and clicking to change the color is a reflex. I spend more time on other forums than this, and none of them have that "No interesting text" rule.

No worries. Easier for everyone the way you have it now.

Not sure what the relevance of the last sentence is though.

As for your topic, I think only you can determine what to sell. If you want enough money to buy a whole new army, you may need to sell most of your stuff, given that assembled (and potentially painted) models don't sell for a whole lot more than 50% retail at the best of the times.

I sold my very first army - Tau - shortly after starting the game when I switched to IG. I don't regret it, but I also wasn't terribly attached to it. Determine how much you're attached to the army in all ways - playstyle, fluff, looks, or whatever else you like. If you can live without it, and really want something new, sell it.

Definately thinking of ditching the Guard. Winrate is wayyy too low. Also I don't like the fluff and models and stuff but that's secondary. When I get home I'll look into selling it or trading it for Crons/SM. I'll also ditch all of my subpar Eldar units and my surplus Gaunts, as I'll never need for than 30 for min troops.

I buy this stuff at QFC and Safeway all day long. This is, like, the go-to daily cleaning item for our household. It cleans all the things.

Simple green can work terribly slow on plastic.

SUPER CLEAN is the bomb. I LOVE it. wear gloves while using it but you fill a bucket with that and water (50/50), shake it a little once in a while and then just check on it the next couple days and grab a toothbrush you never wanna see again. I did a whole Tau army in two days with it.

Simple Green is just tooooooo slooooooow except on metal.

Your Simple Green must be the Awesome version then. Lol.

I'm sure that it also matters what type of a paint was used originally, but ain't nothing I've seen works better than the Super Clean. I gave up on Simple Green. Just too darn slow and the after work is just a ton greater.

I tried Purple Power also and got mixed results. It certainly didnt work as well as some online videos led me to believe.

I just gave Super Clean a try "just because" and it was a game changer for me. So I wont tell someone whose had luck with Simple Green to stop doing it. I'm just saying ya' might be impressed by the alternative. Or not.

No, no, I've got a tank that nothing has been able to touch so far, that I might try Super Clean on. (I've just never seen anything, other than that one tank, that a day or two in an SG bath couldn't take off in a flash. Of course, I use a rotary brush in conjunction with the cleaner, so that might have something to do with it.)

Simple green is trash anyway

Break Fluid (For the love of god use gloves) and L.A's totally awesome all purpose cleaner work much better and are both gentle on plastic and resin. I just use turpentine on metals.
