Hi folks.

Trying to start a small Khador force (25 points or so). I didn't buy the battle box because I don't care for Sorcha. So far all I've purchased is normal Butcher and a Kodiak, mainly because I love the models.

Where do I go from here? I'm going to take it slow and actually finish painting models before I buy a bunch that just pile up (probably a common problem for dakka-ites). Looking for things that will work well with the Butcher for an inexperienced WMH player.

I'd pick up a unit of Winter Guard Infantry with the UA and Kovnik Joe; lots of people have been asking this question recently so you'll find a more in-depth explanation going down a thread or two, but the long and short of it is that Khador's great strength is stacking buffs to make a small-based infantry unit nigh invulnerable. Most Khador armies start from either Iron Fang Pikemen (with the UA and an Iron Fang Kovnik) or Winter Guard Infantry (with the UA and Kovnik Josef Gregorivich), which one you want is highly dependent on what support your warcaster brings. I suggest the Winter Guard infantry with PButcher because he's got Iron Flesh, which stacks with Bob and Weave to pump the Winter Guard's DEF to absurd levels without crippling their speed quite so much as it would on Iron Fangs, who don't have their own DEF buff.

A caster, a jack, and a big fat unit of infantry with add-ons should be plenty to keep my brush happy for a while. Thank you.

Bare in mind, pButcher, Kodiak and WGDS is just 15 points, not a soul would want to play you at that level with that list btw. It's far far far too powerful, I could only think off the top of my head one list that could compete with it.

But it does leave you 10 points to go up to the level you want so you could go Doom a Reavers for gross melee out put, widow makers for plinking off guys, lots of choices for 10 pts

Cygnar (133) | 82% painted - Menoth (65) | 92% painted
Mercenaries (52) | 53% painted - Circle Orboros (42) | 92% painted - Minions (20) | 0% painted

Systems I play : Warmachine, Hordes, Star Wars X-Wing, Star Trek Attack Wing, Malifaux & Bolt Action.

Love the Doom Reaver models, wish I had the painting skills to do those possessed swords justice.

Want a little tip?

Paint the skulls on the swords with whatever color you want them to be glowing, get real deep into the crevices, then dry brush the red(or whatever color) over the top of them after its dried. That will get a nice glowy look.

For the Doom Reaver's Orgoth Blades - Give the skull portions a white or light grey basecoat and then give them a wash in whatever color effect you're going for. If you really want to test yourself, give them a lighter green wash and then a darker green wash only in the deepest recesses - this will give it a gradient. If you play around with it a little you'll see that it isn't that difficult!

What is best in life? To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women. Grrr.
