Games Workshop seems to be opening more and more stores (not sure if there is a balance with equal number of closings), but I saw a local GW opening nearby in the near future:

So to the point, how much is a GW Store Manager in the US really compensated? What is their bonus structure like?

Guessing it'll vary but Glass Door has a couple of salaries averaged.

Almost all of those reported wages are for the UK, so I'd take them with a grain of salt, though they may be similar. There's also a lack of confirmation through multiple posters, which isn't helpful. I wouldn't expect big money, but don't expect a good idea of compensation until you get to an interview stage and to an offer regardless.

It depends what the store averages in sales per year. The higher the sales, the higher the salary. My local store has a $33k/yr salary according to both the former manager and the current one. The sales goal is about $2,800 a week which they've been hitting and usually beating by $200-300 so the store does roughly $150k/yr in sales. I think they have to make $20,000 over the goal to hit the next salary bracket.

It's probably very low once you factor in all the work they have to do. Retail "managers" generally work way more than 40 hours a week and get paid around 30kish "salary".

I'm sure running a shop entirely on your own and constantly being pressured by unrealistic sales targets is a barrel of laughs. Retail is not that much fun, the only to be had is with colleagues in the same boat. You won't even have them in a one man store.

Retail management.. fun? I'm wondering where you've seen that be the case.

Oh, take it from me, if you're doing well, with a team of staff that all get along, actively work for the good of your store and are motivated, then retail management is, or can be, a lot of fun.

It's rare alchemy though, and more often than not you're just trying to absorb the pressure from above, because the last thing salespeople need is to start feeling pressured to sell, the wheels come off very quickly in that situation.

Being a GW manager in a one man store has all the negatives of retail management with none of the upsides.

Retail can be just as fun as any other work, horses for courses and all that.

In the right shop with the right employer and the right staff, retail can be great.

I never did retail but I worked in a lot of bars and had a great time. Working on your own in a closet sized GW with major sales targets hits none of those boxes. A bunker or larger store with a few staff could be an entirely different matter though.
