Mentioned in the back of today's issue of White Dwarf.

My understanding is that the next 2 issues of said magazine will come with 18 ( for a total of 36 ones hopes anyway) cards of the relevant type to further enable one to play the cityfight variant missions in whicheveroneoftheBaalbooks has the cityfighting rules in.

AFAIK there is no extra or extended print run for these issues so if one is interested then it might be worth picking up an issue sooner rather than later.

Today's issue of course comes with a booklet with rules etc for the latest batch of Hobbit models.

No idea how this will work -- if at all -- with regards to any digital releases, although the cards might be put up either for free on the website ( unlikely IMO) or on sale as part of the advent releases ?

Not really, GW is doubling down on what they expect us to buy. Not enough to just get rules and a codex now you NEED dataslates, supliments, WD etc, etc...

It's basically the same philosphy we see in Marvel and DC. Give up on new readers/players and suck every last drop of blood from your current fan base.

Gah, dammit GW!

On one hand I feel I should praise you for doing something with WD I, and many others, have long been nostalgic about, but on the other, the circulation of WDW is so limited now, I won't have a chance to grab one in all likelihood.

What about digital copies, are they going to provide some mechanism and permission to print them out? Or are they second class in this regard?

So only having been in the hobby for a few years, I have never had the urge to buy White Dwarf.

What is the best way to get a copy without eating a fortune of shipping a single magazine? Our FLGS doesn't stock magazines period.

I think they are on the right track, lets count in the last new white dwarfs we have seen new rules for nids, formations, and now new data cards. Hell of a buy at 4 bucks each. Lot better then the olds ones at 12 that had a ton of battle no actual useful things in it.

These are interesting times indeed...

Wow GW bringing it back, I like.. Maybe this is them making a change for good?

Unfortunately I am on a personal boycott until they get their gak together. 1.9 years between editions and overly expensive and shortlived codecii really put me off, not to mention the high barrier for new players entering, can't sell it to my friends.

Armies: Space Marines, IG, Tyranids, Eldar, Necrons, Orks, Dark Eldar.

I was in the one by the mall near me killing time about a week ago, and saw it there. I was kinda surprised by it, to be honest, especially since they don't carry much in the way of game-related stuff anymore, aside from some board games and video game guides.

Edited cause spelling is hard

You can also order it off the website, if you can't find it locally, they run out or something...

They usually have the previous white dwarves for a week or two up on the website

You always get free shipping if you ship it to a GW...but if you're really far from a GW.., I guess you'll have to go over the $65 (US) to hit your free shipping mark.

Do they differ from the Maelstrom Tac Objectives in any way? If they're different, might pick em up for some new team games.
