So, while reading the SW codex (and having no expirience with them), I've came with such horrible|hilarious idea for a 1k list:

Rune priest; ML 2, armour of Russ = 145

6X5 Blood claws = 360

9 Lone wolfs; TDA, 3 power axes, 3 power mauls, 3 power swords, 3 combi-meltas, 3 combi-flamers, 3 combi-plasmas = 495

Should be rather interesting to play with, watching enemy to decide which one of 15 targets to shoot at.
Also, the great part with Lone Wolfes is that every one of them could have their combination of weapons - an army of unique characters is rather Space Wolfy way IMO.

Main problems I see is mainly tanks. STR 4 bolters just arent going to cut it and while the combis are nice they are still one use only and foot-slogging.

Really I find that to be your main problems your whole army is footslogging they only have an 12" effective range so they are going to get shot up....alot.

So gun lines are going to make the game pretty unfun for you.

Your strength is the large number of Objective seq units you have but again your slow and have no way to get to the objectives quickly.

I really really can't see how this list is going to be effective.

I've been thinking about a similar list, but not to this extreme.

Lone wolfs in TDA can deep strike, so not all of them have to be footslogging. But well, 3 combi-meltas deepstriking (maybe not even ending up within range) is not terribly frightening for armies with a lot of tanks.

Maybe switch 2 of the BC units to 1 Swiftclaw unit, to get some mobility? You'd lose some of the Lone wolfs as well I guess, but that may be worth it.

Drop three of the Lone Wolves, get three pods with locator beacons on all three for your BC, drop them close to your opponent, DS your Lone Wolves to the Drop pods and watch your opponent cry.

The reason I say three with Locator beacons is because your opponent will know what you're planning so you want to get enough down to make sure there's at least one waiting on the board. The benefit is that you can screen the pod with the BC unit and at the same time, box your opponent in so when your Lone Wolves come down, they're right there to get ready to tear into your opponent.

In saying that, I wouldn't bet money on this list being effective at all but as long as you're having fun that's all that matters.

Good points, everyone - advices taken. Now list is something like this:

Rune priest; ML 2 = 85

6x5 blood claws = 360

3 Drop pods; locator beacons = 135

7 Lone wolves; TDA, 3 combi-meltas, 2 combi-plasmas, 2 combi-flamers, 4 frost swords, 3 frost axes = 420

Or drop flamer wolf and take this armour of russ on RP.

Bueno, as long as you know in reality this list is nothing more than a fun army. At least it won't get completely wiped off the map before you even start.

Eh, what?

Tinkered list a... well, lot, so this is what happened:

Rune priest; ML 2 = 85

6 Lone wolves; 4 combi-meltas, 2 combi-plasmas, 4 frost swords, 2 frost axes = 360

9 Grey hunters; CCW, wolf standart = 169

2x10 Blood claws; flamer = 250

3 Drop pods; locator beacons = 135

I've totally forgotten about the standart, which will come handy with lone wolves having 2 attacks base and buffing blood claws to 5 attacks on charge and 4 on counter-charge - nothing to sniff at, IMO. Also, going to test this list on couple of days.

I'd throw in a thunderhammer on one of the lone wolves to make for more tank cracking.

Just to remark that you cant have more lone wolves than units that allow it, grey hunters, blood claws and wolf guar (both termi and power armour) allow one lone wolve per unit, so in your firts list you can only had 6 lone wolves, because you didnt have more units to unlock more lone wolves.
Another tip is, if you are going to use heavy deep strike, use some drop pods with locator beacons to help you to make some accurate landings

LWs can deep strike now?! ugh if only I had that in 5th edition! it was their only drawback but it made them useless in most lists.

Yeah anyone in TDA can DS now in the Wolves 'dex, apparently they got over their dislike of teleporting or something.

And yeah Lone Wolves are max 1:1 for Troops/WGPA/WGTDA in your list.

You can take one Lone Wolf for each GH/BC/WG unit without taking up an FOC slot. You can still take Lone Wolves as an elite choice as well.

So, I tested the list on all-droppod Sentinels of Terra, built around sternguards - and tabled them on 4th turn.

I'd add in any thunderhammer on a single from the lone wolves to create a lot more fish tank damage.
