Just looking at starting FOW and probably playing a few games just at the local club.
No-one plays so I would be buying 2 of my own armies and then getting people involved.
What I am looking for advice on is which rulebook/campaign books to get?
Primarily I'm looking to field all tanks in both armies only....so more of an armour warfare theme.
So what books would give me the points values of tanks from the following factions:
British
USA
Russia
Germany
Primarily Mid or Late War armour
Any help would be appreciated

I'd go for 'eastern front' - it's MId war - so probably more balanced, and has soviet and german lists in (the Lw hardbacks are either axis or allied) the other option I think would be 'desperate measures' good Lw german and soviet armour lists.

I second the mid war books. Eastern front has Russian and Germans. North Africa is US, British and Germans. Mid war is still very balanced. Late war can be very very unbalanced for beginners so I would stay away from that until you get some games under your belt. Plus mid war is really fun! And has lots of flavor for different armies and most of the models can transition into early war or late war at a later time if you want.
You might want to find out what the locals are playing first. It wouldn't be good to build a Mid War army and then find out everyone in the area only plays Late War.

I reckon ill nab the rulebook (obviously) and then go for the eastern front and north Africa supplements as suggested as I'm a bit preferable to mid-war as well.
My local doesn't play but some guys there are keen to try a few games so ill mostly be buying the models to start 2 armies.
Thanks for all the assistance.
