Hi guys,

I have a Chaos Warrior army and am trying to decide how to create my Chaos Lord and BSB. I'm not so worried about their items, so much as their mounts and what unit(s) they will deploy with.

I have a big block of Chaos Warriors and 10 Chaos Knights. There are so many options with how I could place the characters that I don't really know what is going to be the most effective.
Initially I was thinking have the BSB on foot with the warriors and the Lord on a daemonic mount with the 10 knights. Then I thought the big base of the daemonic mount would lessen the frontage of the knight unit. Maybe I could covert a BSB on chaos steed to go with the unit instead. Or maybe I would split the Chaos Knights into two units of 5.

What would you do with your Chaos Lord and BSB in this situation?
Also would you split the Chaos Knights into 2 units?


In case you want to know what the rest of my army is like:
20 marauders with shields
2 chaos sorcerers on foot
another unit of 12 chaos warriors
20 war hounds
not that I will use them all, but those are my options

The bsb needs to go in your unit that will never have to flee so on this instance the warriors. If he flees he dies automatically so don't put him in the knights where you could get charged by a horde which you don't want to be in combat with.

I'd break the knights into two units. More flexible and more attacks pumping out of 'em

If I'm going to commit to a Lord on a daemonic steed (and how can I not? The models are all amazing!), seems like the best way to do it.

I've grown to accept the Hero on a daemonic steed rather than a lord, it is a lot cheaper and you only lose 1 ld and 1 attack, 100 points is a lot to pay for that +1 ld and +1 Attack

And since your lord/hero is going to be on a daemonic mount you cannot make LoS rolls unless it goes with some skullcrushers. Usually these lords go on their own hoping that Tzeentch never makes them roll a 2.

How big is your warrior's block? If it is 18+ I'd say put the BSB with the warriors as well as the Lord. If not let the Lord/hero roam free on a daemonic mount and keep the BSB with the warriors.
