I primarily play Tyranids and hardly ever play Space Marines. I'm thinking of the following list for which I have all the models, but I would have to buy the fortifications. I would play in a narrative league, where my primary opponents would NOT be space marines and IG... Mostly tyranids, orks, and necrons. Very few Tau or Eldar players ever show up.

List is:

Space Marine CAD (Chapter Tactics: White Scars)
Khan on his bike
2x Full Bike squad (2x grav guns, Attack bike with a MM, sergeant with melta-bombs)
2x Full Scout squad (All have sniper rifles, veteran sergant w/ bolter, camo-cloaks, missile launcher w/ flakk)
Stormtalon w/ lascannons
Devastator squad (min size, 2x plasma-cannons, 1x lascannon, 1x missile launcher w/ flakk)

Wall of Martyrs Imperial Defense Network
Imperial Bunker (Quad Gun, Void Shield)
Imperial Defense Emplacement
Imperial Defense Line
2x Vengeance Weapons Battery (Quad Icarus lascannon)
2x Vengeance Weapons Battery (Battle Cannon)

Here's the idea: The scouts will combat squad, such that the sergeants man the quad icarus guns in the same quad as the missile launcher. The other 2 squads of five will have a scout man the battle cannons. All will have a 2+ cover in the trench line. The devastators will be in the bunker with sergeant manning the quad gun. The bikes will combat squad and outflank.

Like I said, I expect no knights and very few eldar opponents. I do expect Tyranids and Chaos with a ton of flyers (hence all the icarus lascannons and flakk missiles). Tell me what you think, and if there are any glaring holes. Thanks!

hmmn....I'm not buying it...
that's a hell of a lot of points on fortifications... a demolisher/ vindicator would blow that away...but you said no space marines/Imperial guard opponents...
-Jump assault? that could really ruin your fun, though they tend to be imperial or chaos...
-Deep strike assault? depending on the layout of your network, deep strikes could be a huge problem, though you aren't expecting any imperial forces...
-hmmn, maybe not a bad idea considering your meta, just don't let tyranid tunnelling monsters inside that complex...trygon, trygon prime etc. or leave anywhere for lictors & genestealers to immerge...but I'd still avoid that many fortification points...seems like too much of a point sink to me personally...

Thanks ChapX!

Yeah, there is about 550 pts worth of Fortification there, but I expect that fortification to do work. There are 4 TL-skyfire-interceptor lascannon shots, 4 TL-skyfire-interceptor quad cannon shots, and 2 Battle cannon barrages that come with it.

I do see your point with deep-striking units. The interceptor guns will help a little (7th edition skyfire hurts me there), but I might need to put some powerfists on the sergeants, or maybe have a counter assault unit somewhere in the network (5 thunderhammer termies can make it very unappealing to try to assault the complex).

I'm not familiar with this fortification at all, but I have heard of it at least. Although you do have a lot of points in your fortification it's sounding pretty worth it!

Could you explain the benefits of the wall of martyrs stuff?

So the "Wall of Martyrs Imperial Defense Network" lets you take a set of fortifications with limits (kind of like a CAD for fortifications). Its rules are in the "Stronghold Assault" supplement book. In this case, I use the detachment to take 4 total Vengeance Defense Batteries (where normally I would only be able to take 2 in a standard fortification detachment). The downside is I have to take at least 1 Imperial Bunker, 1 Imperial Defense Emplacement, and 1 Imperial Defense Line.

i like it personally and agree you might want a counter assault unit in there.
assault termies are too slow for my liking though, vanguard vets with jump packs and power weapons to taste couldbbe a strong contender. i run mine 10 strong with 4 power weapons and a jump chaplain.

you'll have to let us know how it goes with so many points on fort.
