I've been playing some "silly" games with a friend recently. We've each been making 1000 point lists that are somewhat to extremely unconventional and testing out our creations. I'd just like to hear some other ideas for building fun and wacky lists - for any army. Bonus points for Tau, Nids, or Marines (my armies ).

Just to give you an idea, some of the things we've tried:

Close Combat Tau: Aun'Shi (the close combat Ethereal). Fire Warriors with EMP grenades. Crisis Suits with Flamers, FnP, and Fleet. Large blobs of Kroot Hounds. The entire Tau army wants to rush forward and charge.

125 point Guard: Every single unit in his army was 125 points. 125 point Veterans in a 125 point Chimera next to a 125 point unit of Sentinels...

Medium base only Tyranids: No monstrous creatures and no little bugs. Only Tyranid warriors, Hive Guard, Lictors, Zoanthropes, etc.

Other ideas?

Sorry, most of these ideas are just spam but funspam, not in a WAAC way:

SM:
Drop Pod Assault: 20x empty DP with Deathwind Launchers. Good luck to your opponent clearing them all off the objectives.
Airborne Cav: All CCW scouts in LSS

Tau:
Shadowsun Invisi-vespid bomb (name needs work): All infiltrating 6 man stealth suits and DSing vespids. Opponent never leaves deployment zone.
Kroot Ambush Pack: 8x (10 Kroot, 10 hounds, sniper rounds), hammer and anvil deployment, all outflanking.
Tau-fodder: all fire warriors and gue'vesa (rules in IA3 I think?) marching forward
Ninja-Tau: All ethereals with honour blades/equalizers.

Nids:
Ripper-tide. Endless swarm rules, but with rippers only (25 units?)
Genestealer uprising - Manufactorum Formation x 2 on dense urban terrain., preferably against gun line tau in well defended ADL pockets

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I've done CC Tau against Khrone Demons/ Marines using

Farsight(AP2 sword!)
O'Ralai(T5!)
Commander with Fusion blades, shield gen, and FNP.(anyone who's used this knows he's a beatstick, and will munch a lot of face.)

2 min squads carbine FW's
1 min Pathfinders
3 crisis suits
1 crisis shas'vre with that self exploding wargear

The fusion blades commander was with a squad of crisis suits who where charged by Khrone beserkers Kharne and Skulltaker who charged seperately., the crisis suits managed to kill a few bezerkers, while the commander accepted Kharnes Challenge. He proceded to kill Kharne and the remaining beserkers(excess wounds pile back!) with the fusion blades and unfortunately broke them(they stop working on a roll of a 1) while skull taker killed the rest of the squad. Next round he handed Skulltaker an eviction notice from the mortal plains via his fists.

The solo suicide suit surprised my opponent who couldn't figure out why he was solo after he charged his bloodletters into the suit and lost most of the squad when it died.

The firewarriors wrecked a lot of blood letters but ended up dying as Belakor trashed them.

Belakor got into fisticuffs with Farsight and O'R'alai who just couldn't manage to kill the Demon, eventualy it was just my Commanders VS Belekor who proceded to just smash each one and ID them. He got away with one wound.

I like the idea of CC tau, and really only works in fun lists, but jeez it's hilarious.

Don't knock close combat crisis suits. For 23ppm, you get S5, 2 attacks, 2 wounds, S5, Ld8, 3+ and jetpack mobility. And while their WS is crap, they still hit WS4 opponents on 4's, and so will beat down an equivalent points worth of Assault Marines.

All with close combat weapons or all with ranged weapons.
for example, you have 9000 ork boyz all armed with choppas (one is a chainsaw choppa, the other is a regular choppa)
Or maybe you have 99999 ork boyz all armed with sluggas
(all sluggas are the same)
Or maybe you have 999999 ork boyz with shootas, and 99 boyz with big shootas
Or maybe 99999 boyz have big shootas
This is just an example, nobody probably has this. Not even me.

INSANE army lists still available!!!! Now being written in 8th edition format! I have Index Imperium 1, Index Imperium 2, Index Xenos 2, Codex Orks Codex Tyranids, Codex Blood Angels and Codex Space Marines!
PM me for an INSANE (100K+ points) if you desire.

Tau all alien force. Kroot for troops, Vespid for fast attack. You could probably make a 1000 point army out of this. I guess you'd have to have a HQ, take a Cadre Fireblade and call it a "military adviser"

Lootas
Flash Gitz
Grot Tanks
Grot Mega Tank

Loadsa dakka. Not even counting the battlewagon loadouts, but for a gunline the mekgunz and lootas are probably a better use of heavy slots. Grot tanks are better at shooting anyway, and are fast attack or elite.

Sisters of battle are legit. Nobody knows because nobody plays them, but they are good, especially in lower point games. It would certainly be an interesting sight to see though.
