The aim of this project is to produce a brand new range of 28mm scale sci-fi amphibian miniatures. They are firmly of the old school style, green sculpted, rubber moulded and cast in metal. These miniatures measure over 35mm tall and will represent serious opposition, even for power armoured troops. They will retail for at least £4 per miniature.
We plan to use this kickstarter to get the range off to a great start with 10 miniatures. they are available in pledges of 5 trooper squads or a larger platoon of 10 troops. All will be variant poses.






If we are fortunate enough to reach our funding goal the majority of stretch goals will be available as add-ons, but if there are to be any potential free stretch bonuses, they will start at the Bullfrog pledge level.

We have plans for platoon support troops and command figures, such as a comms trooper, science officer, medic and more. These will be available as add-ons and will start to unlock once we reach our goal.

A future of drudgery and servitude for your simian compatriots under their new Phrogg masters! Will they slave away on our maggot farms or join our conscript platoons to soak up enemy fire, it matters not to you as you will have a privileged position in our new Empire! Our fleet will arrive at your marvelously soggy planet in 28 of your Earth days, there is still plenty of time to add to our Phrogg invasion force!" ....zzzt....transmission end.

But seriously, thank you everyone. It's taken us by surprise how quickly we have reached the funding goal. We will start to release news of add-ons and stretch goals shortly. We don't plan to go mad and add too many extra miniatures and slow things down in production, we want to deliver quickly and without issues, but there will definitely be more to come....

ADD ONS now available

The Add-on miniatures are now listed on the main page. All backers at poison dart frog / fire bellied toad pledge levels and above are eligible to add miniatures. Simply increase your pledge by the requisite amount- all the miniatures are available at the kickstarter exclusive price of £3.00 each.
The sergeant is also our first stretch goal - at £2,200 all backers at Bullfrog and above will receive one sergeant free of charge.
We may produce variants of the leader and sergeant armed with blades rather than maces- let us know what you think, likewise a psychic mage with a skull rattle staff rather than totem.

I had planned to paint up some more phroggs this weekend but I've been sneezing and shivering instead, ah well. The total has been yo-yo-ing around the £2,000 mark and it was nice to see a number that begins with 2 there for a while, rather than boring old 1 :-)
To that end we've decided that seeing as our first mini-stretch for the heavy weapons was £1000 and the funding goal was £1500 that it makes sense to have the first real stretch at £2000, so- if we get past £2000 and stay there, every pledge at Bullfrog and above will receive a bonus free Sergeant Phrogg! Spread the word :-)
It would be really nice to get enough for that anti-grav weapon platform....

We aren't anti anti-grav





We've thought long and hard about adding a final stretch goal for a hovering weapon platform but have decided that rather than rush a design and promise something that we can only estimate a cost for we want to do it properly.
We are really pleased with how quickly this kickstarter reached it's goal and has produced 5 extra command figures that are already sculpted. As it stands we can deliver early and we would rather not complicate that by adding more models. The plan is to finish and deliver this kickstarter and then produce more support models for the Phroggs in another kickstarter.

What we would like to do next time is produce an anti-grav platform that can take a pilot and a choice of weapons, or carry a general. I'd like them to look like a carved stone and beaten metal dais for the top half and proper sci-fi technology underneath, looking like something that has been half buried for centuries until lifts out of the ground in a shower of earth and moss when awakened by a Phrogg tech-shaman :-)
We also plan to do some low tech Phroggs that can be used as fantasy figures or levy troops for the tech-phroggs.

Master castings

The kickstarter hasn't finished yet but I have started preparing masters for production moulds. The plan is to make the moulds through April and start casting up miniatures for pledges as we go along. Barring any utter catastrophes, early delivery is very likely.

We already have half an eye on the next kickstarter which will be for the fantasy or primitive weapon phroggs. They will function as a fantasy race on their own or as close combat troops to go with the sci-fi phroggs. It will be a 10 miniature project once again, we are thinking 3 hand weapon troops, 3 with projectile weapons (slings most likely), 3 with spears and a chieftain.
We haven't forgotten about grav platforms, they will be worked on over the coming months too. Any feedback on what you would like to see in a fantasy phrogg project is gratefully received, we will be commissioning the sculpts as soon as this kickstarter ends so now is the time to have your say.
